The Lost Husband

I’m no movie critic, so I won’t begin to critique technicality’s as many amateurs do. In my opinion, this movie is feel good and one you’ll watch more than once. Josh Duhamel is great and the storyline is enough to keep you interested while still helping you relax and escape. Great movie and the setting portrayal will make you crave a farm life. I think it accomplished exactly what the movie maker intended and I don’t think you’d be disappointed in it at all!

Listen, I never write reviews. Like ever. And if I do they’re usually not positive. But this movie!!! So beautiful. The character development was superb. Each character came to life beautifully. It is not just a romance “hallmark” movie like it may seem. It is soooo much better than that. The acting was perfect. Nothing felt scripted or pushed. It felt organic and so real. It was funny, sad, uplifting, magical, and beautiful. Only thing I would say it needed was more interaction between O’Connor and Libby. Loved it.

Great wholesome movie to watch on a Sunday movie night. I love Katherine Center’s books and this was a great adaptation. I wouldn’t have minded a faster pace to the movie, but what do I know, I don’t live in Texas. I also would have liked to see more of aunt Jean, she was my favourite character in the book.I loved seeing Katherine Center’s cameo at the farmer’s market and I really loved all the shots of the farm house and the surrounding farm. The movie was really beautiful to watch

Full disclosure, I am a huge fan of Katherine Center. Her books are positive, uplifting, and just what the world needs. Her dialogue of her characters is so relatable so that when they overcome their current struggles you believe you can overcome any struggles in your own life too. I always feel great reading her books. I loved seeing this movie bring the book to life. The backdrop of Houston and Texas countryside was a lovely addition to a sweet story. I also enjoyed catching the author's cameo appearance at the farmer's market :) Definitely watch this movie!!!

Like the scenery, character development, and story line. Pace of the film was great, was almost over before I noticed the time so really kept my attention and when I thought I had it figured out, a little curve ball.Very well done. Great family movie.

What a great feel good movie! I watched with my husband and our two daughters. It’s not very often all of us enjoy the same flick. Loved the characters and felt their chemistry.

I ADORE Katherine Center. It was so fun to see her and perhaps her son in a sneak cameo in this movie. I think I pre ordered her next book. I don't ever give her books away. The over all story line of this movie is very good. Perhaps it's the directors fault, but it's a very slow pacing movie. I don't think Leslie Bibb was the right lead actress for this. I really didn't like her, for what ever reason. There wasn't really much dialogue, but lots of scenes with slow music. For me, it was missing something. I was just bored.Will I be first in line for the next Katherine Center movie??? Yes!! Her next book? YES!!! I can't wait.

I wish I'd gone to the book's review page before deciding to rent this. I have no doubt it would have saved me 150 minutes. I love Leslie Bibb, and she does a great job with the material she was given. The problem is, the material lacks emotional depth and honesty. It's white-washed. Literally and figuratively. The set design is straight out of a Magnolia Home Journal. The dialogue, which I assume has been largely taken from the book, is so full of cliches and stereotypes, it made me cringe. This movie will no doubt appeal to many. If you like your plots to be tied up in neat little bows straight out of the Hallmark Channel, you'll probably love this movie. No insult intended, sincerely. Hallmark is popular for a reason - lots of people like the simplicity of a sweet story. Just not me.
