The difference between the stainless steel model and the carbon steel
stainless Steel PROS: 1 Really holds an edge for a very long time and is easy it get back to sharp with a stainless steel sharping rod or 1000 grit whit stone. 2. Will not rust. I have lost one ouside and found it years later just ready and waiting for me to clean the dirt off. CONS: 1 Really hard to get a really sharp edge on it because of the hardness of the steel. And Case does not ship them with a well honed edge. Work around if you do not have the patience to properly sharpen the blades is to find a professional knife sharpener to sharpen it for you the first time. 2 Do not use steel wool to clean the blade. Using steel wool on stainless allows it to start rusting Carbon Steel PROS: 1 Quite quick and easy to sharpen because it is softer metal. CONS: 1 Just as easy to dull because the metal is softer. You will have to constantly sharpen the blade. 2 this blade will rust if left outside in the elements.

Very nicely made! Bolsters and scales transitions are smooth and flawless. Blade alignment is dead center for each blade. Nail nicks are nicely sized and positioned to be easily accessible. Springs are positive with a healthy snap. Blades are mirror polished and arrived evenly ground to a wickedly sharp edge right out of the box! I especially like the bright color of the scales! The bright Orange makes this particular knife hard to lose! The synthetic scales are easily cleaned up after heavy or messy tasks. You can spend more on a pocket knife, but you won't get the quality of a MADE IN THE USA CASE KNIFE! This knife fills my hand well and feels very good...it opens up easily and stays that way with very positive spring function. The steel is absolutely perfect!
