This is a gift for my son, so I don't even know how it smells. I will update when I find out how they are. The only thing I do know is, it was way smaller than I expected. I knew it was going to be small & you really don't want any bigger because you want fresh seasonings not big jars sitting around, so the size is actually fine, I was just expecting a tad bigger. I ordered by accident thinking it was the ones with the magnet on the bottom, they're not. When I checked I seen it was a small business in the US, so again it's actually fine. I will say that I've used a few infused salts before & WOW if you're into cooking, this is a definite purchase. So being a big supporter of small businesses first I went to the their website & can definitely recommend you visit their page outside of Amazon.

Gave this as a gift to my husband who loves to cook and usually adds liquid smoke to certain recipes. He says these will be even better. Pretty carton and ample amounts of salt.
