Excellent product with a caveat!
Before I dig into this review, I have to agree with others that this cat tree is top heavy and the base needs to be larger to keep it from falling over. This poses a structural challenge for the manufacturer, since making it larger pushes the tree further away from a window, if you want your tree positioned close to where your cat can look outside. BUT, don't let this scare you away! The benefits far outweigh this limitation, since it's easily fixed. More on this in a minute. Our cat of 16 years passed away. After we adopted another lovely and gentle, furry soul to share our home with, I bought him a new cat tree. It was another on Amazon that was real nice, that is until our cat started using it as a scratch post, which was part of its features. Within four months, the cat tree was a tattered mess. He scratched right through the posts until they were riddled with cardboard holes and the rope had completely unraveled. So I researched cat trees that offered a better construction. We needed one that had larger posts not made of cheap cardboard. It also needed rope that was thicker and glued entirely to the post, not tacked in place. Most trees have rope that is tacked in place, so when the cat tears through it, it unravels. It seemed all the cat trees are like our old one. I was never able to find one that met our expectations... until I found this cat tree. We've had this for a few months, and our cat has been scratching it daily. The scratch pad is not made of rope and is far more robust than the standard rope-based cat trees. The tree comes with only five parts. Our old tree took me close to an hour to put together. This tree took maybe 15 minutes to construct, at most. Its minimalist design is an advantage since, really, it doesn't need to be a complex assembly. The tree also comes with another block that can be installed under the top bed, and this allows it to be moored to a wall, keeping it from tipping over. We couldn't really use this because it raised the bed so the cat's face was at the same height as an obstruction that blocked him from seeing outside. As others said, when he first jumped off the top bed, the entire cat three crashed to the ground! OMG!!!My wife figured out an immediate solution. The day before, she purchased some garden pavers. She had four leftover, and they were just sitting in the garage. These heavy blocks were perfect for the cat tree. They're not unattractive, and three placed on the base of the tree immediately fixed the problem. It's never come close to falling over, since placing the blocks on the base of the tree. The beds are super comfortable and held in place with Velcro. They're very easy to take on and off and can be washed. Be warned though that they're white. They collect hair and dirt easily. I haven't researched it yet, but the beds look like they might be easily replaced with a common cat bed of similar size. The other thing I need to research is if the scratch pad can be replaced. It's holding up very well, but down the road, he'll probably need a new one. If the manufacturer is reading this and can comment, that would be great!I wouldn't discount this cat tree because people say it falls over. You can accommodate for this. Either install the mooring block or place heavy objects, like pavers, on the base. This tree is constructed far better than any other tree I've located, and the price is very good, considering the quality you get.And it's made in America--Georgia, in fact! I love supporting our domestic businesses!

Super Super Cute
This cat tree is super super cute and easy to assemble (about 20 minutes, one person). My cat weighs 9 lbs. and she jumps all over this thing with no movement. I do wish the base was an oblong circle piece like the arm that sticks out just for more stability but it my cat really has no issues. This thing is also HUGE. It is super big, and yes, the bottom bed is a bit high off the ground but my 3 year old cat with claws has no problem getting up there. Overall, its really the only cat tree I like the look of, its reasonably priced, and its high quality materials. The beds are also really secure even though just held on with velcro.

Give your pet some time to explore it
**updating my review to 5 stars (from 4) after 1.5+ years of consistent use!! I have washed the beds too many times and they are still sturdy and soft!!! Amazing quality****My 2.5 year old exotic shorthair has finally figured out how to get on it — only because we put it next to the couch so he jumps to the lower level from the couch and then to the top level from there — it DOES sway every time he goes into it.We got this model bc it’s attractive and high up for his viewing pleasure. Being American made is also important to us.Other pluses — He also does like the thickness and material to scratch. The beds are also very plush and comfy but I think the way it’s built isn’t great for flat face point of views.I’m keeping it because he is using it and it would be a pain to return, but ya if you’re okay with these points I mentioned it is a worthwhile buy. Also it comes with an attachment for the wall but that was the main reason we went with this model (the impression it was sturdy without any installation!)It’s now a few months later and he LOVES this cat tree. I’m glad I allowed time for him to feel comfortable!

It will topple if not mounted
This could be a beautiful cat tree. It has a sleek design, blending it nicely in a house and furniture. I loved that it is made stateside and I really regret having to return it. Unfortunately, our cat knocked it over twice just by trying to climb and lay in the bed that is extended out. I understand that the manufacturer added a "fix" by making it possible to mount it on a wall... however, I have no desire to do so as I would like it to be moveable. It would be helpful to have that listed in the description as a must.

Buyer beware
If you are looking for a free standing unit this is not it, have two cats, each 15 lbs, they cannot both be on this perch at the same time it wobbles. It does have the option in the instructions to attach it to a wall however where I needed to place it I could not attach it to a wall, it’s advertised as free standing as one would think when a grown man is sitting on the top in the description. In short I was awoken at 2 a.m. by a loud crash and a freaked out cat and a cat tree broken in half on the floor. After looking through the video from our security camera it shows the cat standing up to jump out of the side perch, just that small movement sent this thing crashing to the floor and breaking in half. This is a scary thought for anyone’s cats and also anyone’s children nearby. This is not safe unless attached to a wall. I must say it looks nice and made in Georgia I was so excited to buy an American made product, however, I will continue to buy my cats trees and perches from the UK, they are as advertised sturdy, strong and long lasting.
