Not a good value. Horrible flavor. Limited usefulness.
UPDATEAfter my NYE dinner party, I am dropping my review to one star. Yeah, the presentation of the torch was great. Too bad it Ruined my filet with an unbelievably overpowering torch taste. Don't believe Sansaire when they claim that they have been unable to create a torch taste. It was disgusting and the meat was inedible. I see no use of any kind for this piece of garbage. As a further irritation, it takes roughly 10 tries before the torch will light. Absolute crap.I recently purchased the Sansaire Searing Kit. I was choosing between this and the Searzall. After having the Sansaire searing kit for two weeks, I very much wish I had gone with the Searzall. It truly astounds me that the Sansaire has no way to control the intensity of the flame. It has two positions, on and off. That hugely limits what this torch can be used for. I see little use for it beyond searing meat.By contrast, the wide flame distribution of the Searzall is not as good for searing meat. But if you remove the Searzall you have a TS8000 blowtorch in your hand. Is it optimized as well as the Sansaire for searing meat? Probably not. But will it get the job done? Absolutely. But you then, in addition, have the Searzall (and for less money) that is a completely different piece of equipment and opens up far more possibilities for using the blowtorch.I find the combination of a TS8000 and a Searzall to a be much more versatile and a much better value. The $20 that I had to pay for shipping on the Sansaire while the Searall is has free shipping is yet another irritation with this product.Sansaire = $180 with shipping.Searzall ($70) + TS8000 ($40 at Lowes) + propane tank ($3) = $113.I, like others, have limited use for the searing rack that Sansaire forces you to buy, so I am not assigning any value to it.

Don't Bother
Don't waste your money. The pan is flimsy and arrived with the finish chipped. The torch is an over priced slight modification of a torch head you can buy at your local hardware store for half the price.

Great for finishing Sous Vide
Such a great torch- and the rack is very high quality. Great high heat. I've used it on creme brulee, turkey and other meats.

Perfect steaks.
Exceptional at searing steak, of course since I never used this method before, there was a learning curve. Also I haven't yet been able to find replacement tanks. I suppose a little larger would be ok, but swinging a 2ft bottle around the kitchen would be inconvenient.
