Works great
I needed to get a refill for my Keychain spray and I didn't want to try to find a police/safety retail store so I decided to give these a try and they did not disappoint. Great quality and worked with my current spray device.

PERFECTO! Makes me feel safe already! Not really, I carry a 40cal for that. She loves it, though!!!
She loves carrying this thing to and from her work parking garage and on evening runs. Shes had the same ASP Palm Defender for 4 years now, just a fresh one. It is true...the expiration dates are weird- this one expires in TWO YEARS!

Aresol is effective, but...
Effective heat, but as another reviewer stated - this is 'up close and personal'. I would never employ this at further than (literally) a foot and half away...and you MAY get one full second of use. (Cause you know that's what you're going to do...is hold down on the actuator till it's spent. This device MIGHT give you a split second advantage over a bigger/stronger/younger assailant, but it MUST be put to use with the element of surprise. There's just not that much product in the little canister. Employ it and get away...or take them out quick.

THE FINEST IN "JERK SPRAY"
Palm defenders are a handy defensive weapon to stave off jerks. If a jerk accosts you and the jerk is not carrying a weapon, it's best to fall back on the ol' mace in the face gag. I'm thinking about a recent incident at an Alabama football game where a disgruntled fan started kicking an opposing team heckler in the back. This would have been an ideal time for the victim to turn around and deploy his jerk repellent. One shouldn't rely solely on lethal force as a defensive means because most of the time lethal force is unnecessary, unwarranted, and illegal. These little palm defenders make easy carries, and they look like tiny flashlights. I've been carrying mine for over a year, and I love it.

THESE EXPIRE - Useless to try and stockpile
I bought a bunch of these because I figured they would not be easy to find once I needed them. The problem is that they EXPIRE, so you can’t really stockpile them. If you are going to buy these, it makes sense to buy one pack at most. Even buying only one would not have helped me, because the ones I got expired BEFORE the one that came with the original device! Caveat emptor.
