Great Looking Rotor w/Awsome Stopping Performance
Decided to upgrade my MTB & decided the brake systems was a good place to start. I upgraded from V-brakes to discs.I purchased a pair of 180mm SHIMANO XT SM-RT86 Rotors, pair of Shimano M375 calipers, a Shimano SM-MA90 post to post adapter (front), a Shimano SM-MA-R180 IS to post adapter (rear) & new cables. This setup works awesome, strong breaking, even when wet (much better than wet V-brakes).These SHIMANO XT SM-RT86 Rotors did not come in the Shimano packaging, nor did they come w/any installation instructions. They did come w/mounting bolts (w/pre applied thread locker & tightening plates (see pic). From what I can tell from the branding, fit & finish, I believe these are OEM parts. I am fine w/that, it saves me money w/out sacrificing quality, especially w/something as important as stopping.According to Shimano’s website, the weights for their XT SM-RT86 rotors are as follows:160mm-131g | 180mm-152g | 203mm-187g. The lighter weight is due to an aluminum core sandwiched between steel. This is also supposed to allow for quicker heat dissipation. What I know is that they work really well.If you’re in the market for disc rotors & your hubs are 6-bolt not center mount, I can confidently recommend Shimano CT SM-RT86 rotors. If you’re on the fence about upgrading your brakes to disc brakes, I’d say do it. Discs stop much better than V-brakes, they look great & if your thinking about upgrading your fork in the future, you’ll definitely have more options to choose from w/disc brakes than w/V-brakes.Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope you found it helpful.

Not so sure, kinda sketchy
Ok so received the rotor today came in a plastic bag which is not usual with shimano rotors, they usually come in a box. First thing I noticed was all the machining marks on the back of the rotor not the usual Shimano quality, But I'll try it if I have any issues won't hesitate to send it back. May be a second or knock off. Either way it should have been protected more while being shipped pretty poor process. Update put it on and was bent luckily I have a friend at a shop he straightened it with a park tool, not sure if it will stay true if it dont will have to send it back.

Great in all conditions with little noise and no fade!
I bought a full XT brake set to upgrade from a Deore level M506 caliper and RT 56 rotors. While those brakes are fine the XT with Ice tech rotors are flawless! I’ve been using them for three seasons now in mud, snow, rain and sand with zero issues. I mainly bike Cross Country and Trail ride.Pros: good modulation, clamp down hard when needed, no fade, easy to install, not noisy, look cool, good in all conditions and temps, Shimano dependability, high qualityCons: noneHighly recommended!

Is there much better than this?
This rotor changed the performance of my Braking System. These are what I would call a pure upgrade over most Stock rotors many bikes ship with these days. I went bigger and it translated to Better, but I am sure it is more about the quality and design over the "Bigger is Better" mindset.Installation was simple, aligning my Calipers was super simple. Painless installation.I needed more stopping power. 300 pound rider, riding a Specialized Fatboy. I went with a 203 up front and a 180 in the rear. I think I will put this setup on all of my bikes moving forward.

Which is better, rotor or caliper upgrade?
Shimano Deore / SLX / XT complete sets are only $60-90 for the front or rear, and these Ice Tech Rotors are $40 each. So if you don't have that level of caliper, why not just buy the better caliper and stick with 160mm? You could, of course. But for longer, steeper decents, these Ice Tech Rotors have a more consistent feel that doesn't fade. I have a 56 lb e-bike and these do help, I can feel the difference. That's why I got them. But on my normal 33-lb bike there is really no need, I'm doing XC trails and usually don't go more than 20 mph downhill. I'll switch over to these eventually on my main bike but it's going to take many thousands of miles to wear out all of my 160mm rotors lol.

Huge upgrade for my Nishiki Colorado 27.5 MTB
I bought two of these to replace my stock/OEM rotors on my MTB Nishiki and have been thoroughly impressed. My first real ride was on an intermediate six mile trail; since I ended up using my rear brake more, it was easy to tell the break-in difference from the front. There is a vast noticeable difference as there is much more 'bite' when needed without compromising a good breadth of modulation. I gotta get back out and use my front brake a little more to get caught-up/match the rear break-in. Very happy with these upgrades on a Shimano XT m8000 hydraulic brake system.

Best rotors out there
I have used XT Ice Tech rotors on several bikes now and they are really some of the best rotors there are. Paired with nice Shimano brakes such as the XTs they will stop on a dime. I really haven't used my brakes with any other rotors however I can tell you my setup works a lot better than any Sram brake with centerline rotors I have tried. The only complaint I can really make about these is that they bend pretty easy. I don't mind truing them once a month or so but just keep in mind after a day of heavy braking these rotors can sometimes warp and end up rubbing.

Test subject RT-86
I got this rotor to replace a pair of RT 56 but only got one to see if it was worthy of replacing both or replacing the old ones at all. Once installed they look and perform great super grabby and quiet. Just ordered the other one for the rear.Update:Hands down the best rotors out there. Replaced my HT's rotors and the difference was huge. I bought another pair for my full sus' tektros that are so noisy and again big difference. Highly recommended.

Solid rotors
Solid rotors that keep cool and don’t warp. Straightforward to install, but if you’re not sure how to set up rotors, there are plenty of YouTube videos to show you. Make sure you tighten using a torque wrench to get even distribution. I use mine with shimano Zee metallic pads, stopping power is immense!

Si tienes alguna duda pregunta y responderé encantado. Muchas gracias.

Amazing Shimano quality, but missing a part shown in the instructions.
I really do not understand why there is a part missing from this set. I cannot imagine Shimano making mistakes with product contents. In the instructions it says to fit a washer, which is not in this kit. While the rotor is fine and it works without it, hopefully there are no safety issues.

Great rotor, but missing fixing washer
Nice rotor, easy to install, only problem is the instructions in the package say there should be a fixing washer and it wasn't included in the package. Anyways, you can fit the rotor without this washer. But would have been nice to receive the full set : )

Arrived with a warp in it.....complete waste of time!
I ordered a front disc to replace my current solid avid disc which has a warp in it. The new 'upgrade' arrived with a warp in it which rivals my original warp, absolute waste of time.No have to repackage and send back......AVOID
