This 1600 series cover is called the Ultimate cover on the sellers website. I contacted them directly and asked specifically about the ML thickness. Here was their response -“ As a result of changes in materials and manufacturing processes which have been made in the solar cover industry over the years, competing solar cover products with the same “Mil” no longer perform equally.” This 15x25 oval cover was delivered and the total weight was 20 lbs. There is no way this is the “ultimate” cover by any standard. Have not even opened the cover because I am disappointed with the lack of quality. They are allowing me to return the cover for a refund, but I pay shipping. I paid $149 for the cover and it will cost me $80 to ship it back. Do not buy this cover based upon the description and their own explanation. Other cover vendors do indeed give ML thickness for their covers and I will buy from them. The 1600 and 1200 series are misleading terms given to quality or thickness. Lesson learned - always compare thickness from any cover manufacturing . It IS the industry standard for solar covers despite what this seller indicates.

Bought this in August 2019 when we bought our home. Didn’t start using it until around November since it was still pretty warm here in Florida. It’s been on the pool for the past month since we’ve had a cold spell, and pulled it off today. Took me almost an hour to scoop out all the bubbles that came off the backside and it tore as we were taking it off. Sure didn’t last very long! 😡😡😡

Bought 18x33 oval 16mil clear about 1 month ago.So far very happy with the results. 16mil thickness is pretty tough and should hold up well.Had solid blue one previously, and I'd estimate water temp is 3-4F warmer with the clear cover.Comes slightly oversize so trimming is expected. Agree with the instructions, which recommend letting the cover 'relax' for a few days on the pool to let the folds flatten out before trimming to final size.With a cover of this size and weight, a cover reel is recommended. With the reel uncovering takes 2 minutes and covering takes maybe 4 minutes.January 2021 update: Cover has made it 3 years so far, shows dirt but bubbles still intact.

Eliminates heat loss over night, adds 10 degrees to water temperature over all.The down side is you're lucky to get 3 seasons before it starts to break down.You need a pool cover roller, for a one man operation.

Had this for 4 months and it’s fallen apart, material obviously is extremely poor qualityMy last 2 solar covers lasted 4 and 3 seasonsWhen I contact the seller and inquire about the 7 year limited warranty they said it only covers seam separationShould have stated that or not indicate the warranty in the advertising,very misleading

Im still trying to find the perfect solar cover. Brand is important. mil thickness is important. price is important. Take notes cause you forget. Which one lost all its bubbles in the pool and plugs the catch basket? It was expensive but a bad brand. Another expensive one had one of the 3 fused strips that sunk into the pool it was a heavy mil and expensive. Cheap one lasted one season and weather checked and sunk. GL share what you learn but remember which one it was.

This pool cover doesn't float very well, when water gets on top of it. It seems the bubbles are not full of air.Pool cover is not oval, but this cover has lasted longer than a lot of other covers.

This is the first aftermarket solar cover I have purchased. My original cover only lasted 2 seasons which I feel is ridiculous. I’m hoping this one, which is claimed to last 7 seasons, lasts longer. It is much heavier than the original so I’m hopeful. I have a saltwater pool and do not know if this impacts the lifespan in either direction.
