Very Little Cinderella (The Very Little Series) Hardcover – Picture Book, October 6, 2015

I liked very little red riding hood so I tried this book. This little girl is obnoxious, says No to everything she is asked to do and doesn’t say thank you to the sweet little boy who returns her boot to her. I found myself adding in polite words and making her agreeable. Eventually, I put the book up high and away. While this may be accurate for some little girls’ behavior, it’s not a good book to read to girls who are learning to be polite and obedient. Cute concept though.

My 4 year old granddaughter loves this book (and the whole "Very Little " series. It's fun to read aloud.

Love this book and the collection of fairy tale retells by this author ; perfect books to read aloud to your preschooler! She nails the two year old mindsets!

I ordered this book after reading "The Very Little Red Riding Hood". Both offer a fresh look at two favorite fairy tales. The illustrations are fun and the storyline is gentle and sweet but not sappy. My 6 year old granddaughter found them both delightful and requests them each time she visits. I look forward to more from this duo and the endpapers suggest that more can be expected.

My 3 year old adores this story. I have read this one many bedtimes in a row per her request. After reading this one we also bought Very Little Red Riding Hood and just ordered Very Little Sleeping Beauty to complete our set.

Very Little Red Riding Hood instantly became a favorite in my house, but this book missed the mark. Cinderella acts and speaks like a whiny, self-centered, disobedient child. I disliked all of the dialogue in this text because it set a bad example for my three year old. Cinderella behaved like an obnoxious brat and yet is the heroine of the story.On the plus side, the illustrations are adorable. I make up my own version of the tale to accompany the lovely pictures. My daughter requests this often.I look forward to the next tale and hope that it returns to the clever and whimsical retelling like the first one!

My 6 year old loves this story!

This is a delightful book that is perfect for toddlers. Mine absolutely love it, including when I use a silly voice for the toddler talk. I don't think this focuses too much on looks at all, as one review suggests. Very Little Cinderella is very particular about her clothes (she insists on wearing her blue dress, and laments the loss of a "lello boot,"), but many toddlers (both girls and boys) are quite particular about their clothes and would prefer to wear the same few favorite outfits over and over again. I think that is what the authors are trying to portray, and that is why the book resonates with small children, who can relate to this trait. I don't love that Cinderella lives with two "ugly sisters," but that's a quirk of the source material. I don't edit that part out when I read versions of the Disney story or the original story to my children, and they don't seem to have a problem with it in this book, either.

I loved the first of the series, "Very Little Red Riding Hood" so instead of waiting for it to be published in the U.S. I paid extra to buy it from Amazon UK. It was ok but not great. The kids in the class enjoyed it but preferred the first one. Also, no book jacket which also elimated any author description. Another book from the UK that I bought was Abracazebra which also came without a book jacket but was a great book.

Fantastic addition to our Very Little collection. I only hope the author writes more in the series as my Daughter and I are big fans!

Beautiful little book. My son enjoyed it and it's just lovely. Perfect bedtime story.

Niece loves it!

Just as enchanting as Very Little Red Riding Hood. My 3 year old thoroughly enjoyed it.
