Awesome product
Made just as nicely as my fly rod holder, this wading staff holder will be perfect for my fly fishing wading belt. A safe and secure way to hold my folding hiking stick until needed!

Wading staff fits in this perfectly
Light weight and sturdy material. Size is perfect for a folded wading staff (snug enough to stay put but still enough room to grab and pull staff out and put back in). Mounts well to the belt of my fly fishing waist pack. **UPDATE** used out on the river and was able to get my wading staff in and out of the pouch very easily - wading staff stayed put and out of the way in the pouch when not in use. The mesh material is strong but light weight.

good , but not great
I was very pleased to find this item. I use a graphite hiking pole for most wading and they don't come with suitable pouches. This one is good but I made one modification and will be making a second to solve the issue I have with it. The webbing is semi-rigid - this is good, but it means there is nothing holding the pole in but gravity - this is bad as the pole falls out at inconvenient times.I've added a scuba material (lightweight neoprene) cover over the opening with cuts forming an + in the middle this snugs it up a bit, but I think it needs a second holder lower in the pouch - or possibly just a smaller set of cuts to form the +. If this works then a horizontal mounting position would be an option.Much easier to use than the neoprene sleeves that come with some staffs. You have to tie those down top and bottom like an old west gun holster.

Tired of those wimpy wading staff holsters that fall apart after a few weeks or months of use? Then get this thing.1 - It's sturdy. It would take some concerted effort to destroy it.2 - It's big enough to accommodate the folded staff without difficulty.3 -- The back side will handle a belt up to maybe 4 inches wide.This is one of those rare moments when a product appears and I go "Aha! That is exactly what I've been looking for."
