Bad: The true story of the Perish brothers and Australia's biggest ever murder investigation
Loved this book! There was so much detail and information that was not included in the television series. I was shocked, horrified and appalled by the things they did. It kept me intrigued right to the very end.

An unsavoury pair
Well written story of an evil pair of b-------s.I don't recall reading about this when it happened, which seems odd.It is certainly worth reading especially if,like me,you do not know of these two

Bad indeed and they are very very bad!
Book Review: Bad by Michael DuffyThis is a most gripping and interesting paperback (290 pages long) dealing with the crimes of Anthony and Andrew Perish and their many criminal associates who were involved in the drug trade. Over some time they produced massive quantities of “ice” and amphetamines. The book opens up regarding the strange murders of the grandparents of the Perish brothers. The Perish family believed that a character by the name of Terry Falconer murdered the old folks in their abode near Leppington, western Sydney in 1993. [After over 20 years since their deaths, no one has been charged with the murders of Anthony and Frances Perish, the grandparents]. Anthony Perish and his mate Brad Curtis arranged a group of three other criminal clowns to kidnap Falconer. They were only meant to interrogate him but Falconer put up a fierce resistance in the hijack vehicle and Curtis had to knock him out, firstly with a punch to the head and then with either ether or chloroform in a hanky or similar cloth. Terry Falconer was then put in a trunk in the boot of the car unconscious. The criminals then drove the car up the coast to the town of Girvan north of Newcastle, where in a shed at the property, they removed the dead body of Falconer (who on the trip up the coast had actually suffocated in the trunk from the heat and lack of air). In the shed Falconer was strung up like a side of beef and his limbs and head chopped off by Curtis and his mates. Perish condoned the works. The body parts were bundled up and placed in blue plastic rubbish bags and wired around with chicken wire. From there they were taken by car to a boat. The criminals then dumped the packages of dead human “meat and bones” into the Karuah River. However, it was a flawed plan because the packages later floated to the surface of the water (because of the buildup up of rotting gasses which could not escape the plastic seals) where they were detected by various fishermen. Detective Inspector Gary Jubelin of the NSW Police is the main star of the book which explains in detail all of the police work in apprehending the band of criminals who also had links with another murder. The police work involved electronic surveillance, and over 180,000 phone conversations.Another person who assisted enquiries was Todd Daley, a pseudonym for an ex-bikie who informed police about the criminal activities of the Perish brothers and their cohorts. The second murder was of a bod called Paul Elliot who was killed because he threatened to kill the mother of an Asian drug trafficker. Elliot was shot dead in his house by a character by the name of Michael Christensen a well-known steroid body builder. The book highlights the massive drug trade and amphetamine production in Australia and in particular, New South Wales, the state of crime in Australia. Very very scary! The NSW jails are now full of crims of the likes of the Perish brothers. But there are certainly heaps more out there waiting to be caught. The book is embellished with 12 pages of colour glossy photographs. A short index completes the book. Highly recommended for the crime buff and interested persons.Dr Trevor J. HawkeswoodAuthor: Spiders of Australia (2003), Light and Dark (2013).

What a great story about some of the biggest idiot criminals in Sydney's history. Greed ruins every deal and this is no different. Well written and researched.
