And, absolutely none of the fillers you'll find in some brands. What Is It? Fructevia is our proprietary blend of crystalline fructose, inulin, stevia and magnesium carbonate (to prevent caking). We've blended these in precise amounts to create a mouthfeel and taste experience that makes going low cal/low carb delicious! About 2 1/2 times sweeter than table sugar, it has lonly 4.8 calories per teaspoon serving. And, only 2.2 grams of carbs. How Do I Use It? You can use it right away, as an easy substitute for sugar in coffee or tea. There are 96 servings (teaspoon size in our 1 pound bag!) Remember, you'll only need half as much as regular sugar. Fructevia dissolves instantly in any hot or cold beverage -- just pour and stir! When baking, replaces table sugar 2 for 1 (2 cups of table sugar = 1 cup of Fructevia). Because Fructevia contains crystalline fructose, it retains the browning and carmelizing features cooks look for in baking, making it an excellent replacement for sugar when baking. Crystalline Fructose: Crystalline fructose has one of the lowest glycemix indexes of any food, with a rating of only 20, compared to 31 for skim milk, and 59 for sucrose (ordinary table sugar). Inulin: Naturally occuring in nature in foods such as bananas, garlic, and artichokes, inulin is a natural plant fiber. It is a versatile ally as a sweetener, adding a fullness of texture to more closely match the feel of sugar. Stevia: Used for hundreds of years in cultures around the world, stevia is derived from the Stevia Rebaudiana plant. Our stevia is made with a clean, water-extraction process (never any petrochemicals!), and refined into an ultra fine white powder. Magnesium Carbonate: While we use magnesium carbonate as an anti-caking agent so Fructevia does not clump.
