Did I ever! Jacob delivers a comprehensive yet extremely detailed, well-written guide that gave me everything I needed not only to overcome my fears of public speaking, but also to speak on subjects that I am deeply passionate about. I learned I have something to say and people really do want to hear it. I have seen many videos of TED Talks, but I had no idea so much went into them. This book tells you how you can learn to speak better in public settings and deliver powerful speeches with the TED approach. Many of the tips in the book are common sense, but are also very important things you need to know, such as being true to yourself and making sure your idea is actually marketable. There is also a list of things you will absolutely need, such as slides, videos, and images. I think his would be invaluable to someone interested in learning the TED way or even just to be a better speaker.

I bought this book to prepare for a short speech I have to give on my office, I am super shy and nervous when it comes to speeches,my hands shiver, sometimes I can't even talk common words!!! And to be honest I found this book very informative, this book explains how to face the public and express our thoughts in a simple way, so our speeches make sense to everyone. This book splits our speeches to several parts, and gives us a general idea how to execute this process efficiently. If we follow the instruction gave in this book, we certainly can make a "TED" like speech by ourselves.

There seem to be several books on the market on TED Talks. This one is a C+/B-. I expected more but there was some good material in it. A better book is "Talk Like TED." If you are looking for one on TED that is the one to go with.

The book is a great read for all types of presentations. I gained a lot of valuable insight about how to share my ideas more effectively.
