Excellent! What a great gel black eyeshadow! The eyeshadow goes on smooth. No need to apply with liquid like water on the brush. It remains and lasts all day. If you'd like to keep it from migrating, I suggest a primer. If you want it to look more matte, I suggest a powder shadow over the lid. This is a great shadow for layering and creating a deep, dark pigment. It's easy to apply. Great value for the price!

I bought this eye shadow on a whim at my local drug store and am now obsessed with it!!! I typically wear a darker brown smoky eye shadow, but it always seems to fade throughout the day. This Chocolate Suede color is stunning and stays put ALL day without any signs of fading. The glass twist-top jar and shadow consistency are very similar to lip glosses/sticks that come in a similar container. The color is a rich chocolate and has just a hint of very subtle, fine gold shimmer (NOT glitter).I find it easiest to apply the shadow with my finger, and I also blend it upwards using the rest of my fingers to get the "smoky eye" look. It does not clump at all in my eye creases, and it's easy to wash off (both from my application fingers, as well as in the shower). You can also add regular powder eye shadow on top of it to create a contoured effect. My eyeliner goes on smoothly over this eye shadow without any issues.I would highly recommend this product and will be buying it for years to come. I've attached pictures to show the color and ability to create a smoky eye look for reference.***UPDATE -- 12/31/16***I've been using this eye shadow everyday for just over 2 months now & still absolutely LOVE it!! I've barely put a dent in jar, so I anticipate that 1 jar will last a very long time. I've received numerous compliments on the color, and it truly does stay on ALL day. Also, there are no signs of the product "drying out." Again, I would highly, highly recommend this product.

This appeared new enough, not dried out which would have explained the strange texture. It did not apply smoothly, actually smeared in clumps on the eye. I tried using a brush, a foam applicator and my finger but this did nothing more than make a mess. I tossed it.

Rich color and texture.

I love the color. I put some on after it was delivered and four hours later it’s still on. If more colors are offered I will order again. Mabelline has always made good products I hope they continue to make excellent products.

This product has good and bad points.The good.1. It goes on well and covers very black.2. Should be applied with your finger, no brushes necessary.3. If you add a black shadow on top of this is stays very black all day and works great4. if you put it on very thin it doesn't crack and looks like a great light grey eye shadowThe bad1. It shows the crack lines on the creases of your eyes after an hour. (although this can easily be taken care of by adding a black shadow on top of it)2. It hardens very easily if your house is below 74 degrees.3. the moisture doesn't stay and after a month leaves it dry and cracked (this can be easily solved by adding a few drops of warm coconut oil and mixing)4. the jar opening is very tiny and you have to put your finger in at an angle so that if you have medium or long nails half the shadow gets under your nail.Overall I really like this but is needs to be used with a matching shadow for full effectiveness

I have been looking for a black cream shadow to work as a base for under the KVD holographic pallet and this was perfect. Black shadows work so well to make holographic or dual tone shadow a really amazing edge. It goes on without creasing, and I have the 40 year old eyelids where that is an annoying problem. It is buildable, not to heavy. Stayed in place 4 four solid hours of heavy metal concerts in hot room with head banging. Came of without any staining of skin. Would highly recommend.

Does not last like it reads. Very pretty color but sadly doesn't work as stated
