Frontier Follies: Adventures in Marriage and Motherhood in the Middle of Nowhere

Great book. A fun romp through the days of a rancher's wife and mother. I love her humor and how she sees life. A laugh out loud book.

Great read from Ree

I had seen and admired the "Pioneer Woman" products in Walmart, but we don't get cable TV, only local stations, so I never saw a Food Network video of her cooking shows. I like reading Memoirs though, so when I was selecting my next book to read, I saw hers and got it. So glad I did. That first book and then "Frontier Follies" gave me many hours of enjoyment. She's such a down-to-earth, honest person and so witty, I had several "laugh-out-loud" moments. Toward the end of "Frontier Follies", I slowed down to "save" the last few chapters because I didn't want the book to end. Since reading and learning about her life, I've watched her videos on "YouTube" and was even able to check out through the library, one of her cooking books. I watched an interview she had and loved her answer about how she handles any negative comments, etc. She basically said she ignores it, doesn't defend or answer back. She quoted the St. Francis of Assissi prayer as her mindset about it, "Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace." I do hope she will continue writing about her life on the ranch. I feel like I know her entire family now and I want to continue to follow their lives.

I bought this the other day & it came in 2 days!! You got to love Prime!!! I started reading the book as soon as it got delivered yesterday around noon. I could not put the book down. First it is funny as hell, second I absolutely love Ree & third there are recipes in the book that sound so damn good! As I stopped reading to write this review I am 3/4 of the way through this book. But it’s ok I got her other book delivered today😅. Lol If you love her or are looking to read about a truthful & meaningful marriage & life as a mom, ranchers wife, blogger & food network host try this book. You will not be disappointed. Not to mention the bonus recipes 😉

This book does not have suspense, not a thriller, not science fiction, not a mystery or any of the normal stuff but it does have a lot of love. When I finished, I felt like I just read the diary of my best friend in order to get to know her better. It is not written like a diary but written like you were sitting at the kitchen table drinking an iced coffee and telling anecdotes and just talking about each other's lives. It is hard to describe but I really enjoyed it. I know one thing, I am going to sneak down there one day and kidnap Ladd.

Love her stories

Good book, easy to read.

A Great book, a great book of light reading full of interesting stories of love, laughter and family life. This is a book that’s hard to put down as Ree is relatable and down to earth and you are drawn in to her life. She is a hard working wife, Mother and business woman who has even found room in her life with Ladd to take on a foster kid, she had a priveleged upbringing compared to many but has brought her 4 children up to appreciate that if you work hard you reap the benefits all with a smile on her face and an encouraging word along the way.

Loved the book and love the woman who wrote it. She is amazing. Watch her show all the time.

Ree is so relatable and easy to read. I've since read her other book and loved both. Will definitely read them again at some point.

Recommend

Lighthearted read… but prefer her magazine over this collection of stories. Might be more interesting for a long time fan. I won’t read this book again.
