OUTSTANDING Lens! I Love It!
I’ve been looking for a new lens for the past several months. After doing my research I decided to upgrade my Sony 50mm f/1.8 lens to this Rokinon 50mm f/1.2 lens.Let me tell you this was the best decision I’ve ever made! This lens is amazing! I love it!What I love about this lens:It’s very sharp. It’s an amazing lens for the price you get it at! The photos come out beautifully!I love it better then my Sony 50mm f/1.8.What I don’t like about this lens:My only problem with this lens is that it is really hard to nail focus. (Even with focus peaking turned on to help you focus correctly.)But when you nail focus the photos come out stunning!I will say the Sony lenses is a little sharper then this Rokinon lens. But if your looking for a cheap 50mm f1.2 lens, if recommend this lens for the price!

The overall build quality is excellent for this price range and being fully manual
I recently picked this up for my Sony A6000 to add to my fast prime collection. I also have the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 and the SMC Takumar 50mm f/1.4 (adapted to the E mount) from my old Spotmatic F film camera. This is the closest thing to a portrait lens that you can get for the Sony A6000 series camera. The overall build quality is excellent for this price range and being fully manual, it is very reminiscent of lenses from the 60s and 70s. The lens also has a heft to it from the rather chunky glass elements. I intend to use this lens wide open most of the time and it's good that CA and barrel distortion is quite acceptable. Given that the A6000 has a max shutter speed of 1/4000, it's going to be challenging to shoot this outdoors wide open. (Come on Sony, give us faster shutter speeds for the APS-C cameras)Compared to the Takumar with its f/1.4, the f/1.2 on this lens theoretically gives you a stop advantage of about 0.4 (that's 40% more light gathering ability). This will have some noticeable advantages when doing a lot of low light shooting.Pros:Fast f/1.2 produces some creamy bokehTack sharp images (if you get the focus just right)Colors are balanced and natural9-blade aperture diaphragm - out of focus areas are roundFairly affordableCons: (why I took off 1 star)The focus ring is stiff to rotate and not as buttery as the TakumarThe lens mount isn't as tight fitting as the other lenses and there is some annoying play, which is especially pronounced when rotating the stiff focus ring.Focus throw is short, which makes dialing in the focus more difficult for shallow DoF situationsI included a comparison shot between the Rokinon and the Takumar. You can see that the colors on the Rokinon is more natural and not as warm as the Takumar from its thorium yellowing. While pleasing, the bokeh on the Takumar is different too. You can see that it has a "bubble" like distortion and the blur has an artistic, almost water color like, qualities.

The best budget portrait lens for your Fuji
By far one of my most favorite lenses for my XT-10. Obviously if autofocus is important to you, this is no good, but at half the price of the Fuji XF 56mm f/1.4, it's a decent trade off. You aren't going to find very many lenses with that big of an aperature at this focal length and for this price. This is an extremely fast lens with crazy bokeh and an image quality that doesn't seem far off from Fuji's own lenses. I have read about some issues with IQ/sharpness when it's stopped down, but stopping this down seems like a waste to me.My only gripe is that there are no electronics in it so no EXIF data is recorded. The focus ring is nice and tight, but will go past the infinity marking, so be careful!

never worked
I bought this lens for my photography business. Due to covid I was not booking sessions. So I did not actually attempt to use this lens for a couple months until a future outdoor session. The first, and only time I used this lens (with my also brand new canon mirrorless professional camera) it showed a connection error. I chalked this up to user error or learning curve with new equipment. I turned the camera off, took the lens off and then reconnected it. It worked at that point to finish the session. I attempted to use it for my next event the following month and it never did work no matter what I tried. Showed a connection error so I was never able to take a single picture with it. Later at home I tried multiple times, googled the issue, did troubleshooting, read the manuals again, and nothing worked. By the time I figured all this out I messaged the seller for a refund, exchange or store credit. Something, anything, to help resolve the issue. I was simply told " the return window has closed, sorry" and nothing more. I spent over $400 for this lens and it only worked for half of one portrait session. Incredibly disappointed in the product itself and lack of customer service or any effort at all to help me resolve the issue from the seller. Total waste of money for a paperweight.

Stiff focus and play (backlash) in focus
This is a very sharp lens. But the (manual) focus was much too stiff and there was play in the focus coupling. I returned it.

It’s worth it
For the money you can’t get a better lens. Not that sharp, not that fast. Purple fringing it outrageous, but you get what you pay for.

Great Quailty
Really nice lens. I returned it though. Only reason I returned it was I didn't like having to remove my hand to focus it, the focusing ring turns a long way from close to infinity. It takes very sharp colorful pictures. By the way it didn't come as pictured, the lens hood is also silver and I didn't like that. The black looks alot better on the lens.
