Great for Young Readers
My 6-year-old son is a HUGE fan of Star Wars. We don't let him watch the cartoon and he has only seen the movies once, but he seems to know everything about this fictitious world! So, when I noticed him bringing home the DK readers from the school library (all the little boys race to get them at school every week and he can't always get there first!), I knew just what kind of books to buy so he always has some at home to read. It is very important to have books available on topics kids love so they will love reading! Good job DK. We are amassing quite a library and he is so proud that he can read them himself!

My nine year old loves these books
My nine year old daughter, a very reluctant reader, really likes the DK Star Wars books. She loves all things Star Wars, and so she is willing to read these books about her favorite stories and characters. The stories are simple and enjoyable, the illustrations are nicely done, and the books are interesting even at the lower reading levels.

DK Readers: Star Wars series
My first grader loves Star Wars and I started him in kindergarten with the first levels. He loves to read them himself! He compares them to the movies he watches. They have helped to greatly increase his reading ability because of their high interest and leveled reading ability that increases as his skills increase.

6 year old boy loves this book!
My son wants to read this very often, usually at least once a week, sometimes every night. I hate Star Wars but I still like Yoda so I don't mind reading this story. Yoda is a very sage jedi master!

The Force Yoda is strong with!
My son loves to read, and this book is just above his level. He likes the challenge. Don't worry about how the characters are drawn - the kids will focus on the words.

anything to get him to read
I have a hard time finding books that will interest my child and get him to read. The Star Wars collection gets him to sit and read. they are great books for little boys.

Another great addition to a stellar series
DK has a remarkable line of 'Reader' products. The Star Wars line now includes stories about the Clone Wars, classic star wars, and career paths for the Jedi knight."Yoda in Action", written by Heather Scott is an enjoyable book that pits Yoda into a violent negotiation with King Katuunko (and battle with Dooky and Ventress). As a level 3 reader, it is not indepth, but satisfies the young at heart with a hankering for master Yoda. Do you really think that Yoda can take out a thousand clones and hardware? Why don't you find out. I love the art for the book, and am really not sure if it is taken from the new series, or done especially for this book. The King reminds me of a certain part shop operator on a planet far, far away....Pretty good book, even for an old guy like me!Tim Lasiuta

A book that young Star Wars The Clone Wars fans will WANT to read!
We've only recently discovered the DK Readers Star Wars books, but what a find they've been! I have two little boys at differing stages of learning to read, but both huge Star Wars fans, and these books have really fired them up and actually make them want to read. This book, Yoda In Action, is a Level 3 book which is described as "Reading Alone". According to the book this means that it has: More complex sentence structure, information boxes and alphabetical glossary and a comprehensive index. In this exciting book, the child gets to join Jedi Master Yoda on a daring adventure. This book is taken from the cartoon Star Wars The Clone Wars and features the first episode of this cartoon - Ambush. The pictures, as with all of these books, are stunning and there are lots of them. Even though there is quite a lot of text in this book, the pictures still feature very heavily on each page and make it a very attractive and interesting book. The text in this book is fairly challenging and, as well as the rather difficult Star Wars names, the author has used words such as "seethes" and "deactivate" in the book. An example sentence to give you an idea of the reading level required is: "Squads of Super Battle Droids swarm into the coral forest after the clones." The snippets of additional information that are arranged around the sides of the pages are very interesting and add nicely to the main story, although there aren't as many of these in this book as we've seen in other DK Readers Star Wars books. As with all of the DK Readers Star Wars books that we've read so far, it's been a big hit and has my boys actively reaching for it - even if they just want to browse through the pictures! If you have a young Star Wars The Clone Wars fan who is a fairly confident reader then this book is highly recommended!

A great challenge for a young reader
This book recounts the first episode of the first series of Clone Wars, where Yoda helps the Toydarians decide whether they will align to the Separatists or the Republic. He and his three clone trooper escorts end up battling a massive droid army to prove the Jedi are strong enough to protect the planet. My 6 year old son is a Star Wars addict, and particularly enjoyed this episode of the cartoon. He was so pleased to get it for Christmas he began straight away.As a previous reviewer noted, there are some challenging words in this book - and that is what I like about it. The books from school generally don't use this kind of vocabulary, as they are never about space battles, droid armies or other science fiction concepts. Therefore, it is a great way to increase your child's exposure to more unusual words, and they won't even know they are learning because they will be so involved in the story! We have Clone Wars Stage 1 and 2 books which are good, but not very strong stories, as they are often statements of fact about a set of the characters from the Star Wars universe. This book has a great story and is a great way to increase vocabulary whilst your child enjoys reading about their heroes. If your child has read those books, and can read them confidently, then with a bit of help from an adult to begin with they should find this book challenging and rewarding.Highly recommended.

Yoda Rules
a book read and loved immediately by a 7 year girl who adores Star Wars.this range of graded readers are excellent, with the right balance of pictures and textthey enable reading and then pride on the grade reached.....and amusement for adults when small voices say, I have read all the grade 3, but I still love the princess diary although that is only grade 2....I am buying all of this star war reader series as presents, think its 8 so far, they are enjoyed read and valued by small children,I can thoroughly recommend them.....

Unputdownable
This is a fantastic series of books which my son first found at the library. Really great. The levels don't relate to anything at school in the UK. Levels 1 and 2 are fairly easy, but the "Star Wars" specific vocabulary is tricky at whichever level you go for. Would need to be pretty proficient to tackle levels 2 and 3. In the UK, I'd suggest at least year 2 for an average attaining child to read levels 1 and 2 with relative ease.
