The Sliding Closure Pops Off At The Worst Possible Times
Update: I was on a hike yesterday with someone who had this type of bladder. The same thing happened to her. The clasp came off and the whole thing emptied itself out inside her bag and all over her clothes.saw a YouTube video that suggested using the kind of bladder with the slide closure at the top. I had three very terrible experiences episodes with this kind of closure.1. As the picture shows there are tiny little Velcro straps that you string through the holes at the top of the closure to hold it in place. Know what else it does? It pulls the closure off the bladder.I found out when I bent over to pick something up off the ground and the entire contents of the bladder poured out of the bag and onto my head. Luckily I was wearing a rain coat and it wasn’t too bad. So I decided to try it without using the Velcro loops.2. Same thing happened again yesterday. And this time I wasn’t wearing a raincoat. I didn’t even bend over. The closure just randomly popped off and dumped all the water inside the bag. And the waterproof pocket that holds the bladder was no help at all. I was soaked. The bag was soaked. Everything inside the bag was soaked. It was a long, cold, uncomfortable hike after that.3. A few weeks ago I filled up the bladder and slid the closure on. I laid the bladder down on the counter to attack the tube to the bladder. The closure popped off and all the water gushed out all over the countertop and floor. I had to clean up 2 liters of water before I could leave the house for my hike.Yeah. I’m done with this. I’m going to use the type of bladder with the screw top closure.

Strap Broke and Water Bladder Was an Issue
I purchased this as a last minute item for a 6 day hiking trip. The first issue is the bag is hard to fill. The closing "clip" is hard to slide across the top of the bag. It is imperative that you roll the top of the bag down after filling. Would have liked a easier/quicker way of filling when on the go. Second. The water in the bag gets extremely hot. Even after refrigerating it the night before. By the first stop it was almost too warm to drink. It also "sweats" in the bag. I see where some folks used the cover for it. Another expense. The other issue I had was that the waste strap broke on the 3rd day. Since we were hiking up and down elevations, I needed it to be secured to my body...not just rely on the chest strap. I ended up tying the piece that tore off to the chest piece....TWICE. That got me through the day. The plus side is it's a good size and allows for a few snack items, sunscreen etc. I should have spent the money on a better quality backpack/water bladder...but I have Prime and needed it quickly. I would say spend a little more and get a Camelbak.

Nicely insulated
I actually gave this as a gift, and the person I gave it to only used it once so far on a 9 mile hike, but they were impressed with how nicely insulated the bag was where you place the bladder. They also liked that the hose/water line that comes outside the bag was also insulated. There is a nice amount of space for carrying other items as well. Person who used the bag, carried bug spray, cell phone, keys, rain gear, and an extra two bottles of water. I can't speak to the durability yet, as it was only used once, hence the 4 instead of 5 star review, but overall a really nice bag. I would recommend it.

Buy it for the backpack but get a different bladder.
The backpack and storage options are great! And the insulated portion for the bladder is terrific. However, the bladder taste like tire rubber. And I wasn’t able to get the taste of that out of my water. I washed it several times and still experienced that. Had to buy a new bladder. Buy it for the backpack, get a different bladder buy a new one brand.

Torn the second day :( :( :(
I am so so so so sad and disappointed at this bag!! I was so excited to start using it, it arrived a couple of days ago, I loved everything about it when I opened it, and loved how many pocket options it has, and how insulated the water hose is as well as the inner pocket where we insert the water bag in!!! And then I used it the first day on a hike and was so happy about it, until I went on another hike the very next day and the strap ripped as soon I put it on my back ready to go out :( :( glad I didn’t write my happy feedback the first day cuz it all changed the very next day!!! I don’t think the quality is good enough which is disappointing because I really do like the bag a lot :(

Comfortable hydration bag that really insulates
I typically buy higher end active gear and so I had low expectations, but I am pleasantly surprised at this little pack! It is just big enough to hold some essentials (a camera lens, snacks, phone) but small enough to be comfortable wearing it for hours. And the insulation is great! We were hiking in 107 heat and this pack maintained cold water the whole time. The insulated straw tube was a huge bonus - the other packs we own have clear tubes which delivered a few sips of sun-heated water every time (yuck!) but not this one.The bladder is an open-top bag so it is easy to fill. We had no leaking once it was sealed up. The bladder fits in a pocket inside the bag that keeps it in place and separate from other items in the bag.

Strong Chemical Smell and Taste from Water Bag
Based on the recommendation of other reviewer‘s, I soaked the water bag in hot soapy water the night before to get rid of the nasty taste other reviewer‘s were experiencing. However, after 24 hours of soaking in hot soapy water it did little to nothing to remove the taste of rubber, plastic, or chemical. I bought three and everyone of them have the same taste. I should’ve check before we left on our a day hike the morning after receiving these but I didn’t. The water was absolutely disgusting making it undrinkable.Overall, the backpack was small but comfortable. It held up on two 8-hour day hike. I would get another water bag and replace it. Otherwise be prepared to soak it 3+ or more to get rid of that taste.

Check for leaks as soon as you get it. Arrived broken.
We bought this after seeing my nieces and nephews use theirs. But we didn't use it right away. Today we went to use it for a hike and turns out the connection between the bladder and the hose is cracked. Since it's passed out return window, it's a waste of money for us. If we had checked for leaks right away, I'm sure we could have returned it. Make sure to check for leaks!!!!
