what does it mean 'magnetic'? is the adjustment for resistance electronic or manual?

The resistance level and type of ride are set electronically on the instrument panel. The flywheel resistance is magnetic and gets harder for hills and mountains. You set the resistance level at 1-5 for each programmed ride, ie "ride in the park", "rolling hills", Pike's peak" etc. I've had no problems, nice smooth bike.

Unfortunately the user manual does limit the wright to 300 pounds.

How long does it take to assemble ?

I'm capable but not overly handy and it took me about an hour, maybe a little more. The heaviest part is the base. I just tore open the end of the box and then slid it out. To lift it would have taken two strong people. None of the other parts seemed heavy to me and I did put it together by myself. There were a couple of spots where having a second pair of hands would have helped. This was a matter of the benefit of having one person hold the piece in place while the other person did the screws rather than an issue with weight. The directions are VERY clear and all the screws and washers were shrink wrapped onto a cardboard that clearly identified them, which made the process much easier and faster too. The time involved has more to do with the number of screws and washers rather than needing to do anything complicated or confusing. My impression is that Schwinn put thought into making the assembly doable.

How noisy is this? I live on second floor. Will it bother my neighbor downstairs?

These types of bikes with magnetic resistance are extremely quiet. When you change the resistance, you hear a little bit of noise but not much until it gets to the resistance which only takes a couple of seconds.
