Rethink this...
I subscribe to the JLC magazine and enjoy it. I got this thinking it would be a series of tips and techniques about solving recurring carpentry conundrums. It's not; not in the least. Unfortunately, it's just a lazy reprinting of old questions to the editor. This should be executed better. It could be on par with the excellent JLC Field Guide or Residential Structure and Framing. Instead, its just a money grab.I'll rethink future JLC book purchases. Some are high quality, others end at high concept.

Helpful comprehensive collection
I think Journal of Light Construction is one of the finest publications available for the residential building profession. Collecting articles with a common theme, binding and publishing them proves useful/handy for both subscribers and non-subscribers to the journal and is practiced by other publishers, i.e. Tauton, for articles appearing in their Fine Homebuilding publication. I think anything published by JLC is worth investigating, esp. the book on moisture control.
