Ditch the Scoop And Just Sprinkle It On
I purchased 3 probiotics from Amazon for my dogs [3 pooches; 2 with moderate to severe diarrhea]:VetriScience Laboratories Mega ProbioticDoggone Best Products ProbioticsNucleOtics ProbioticsVertiScience made a definite improvement, but the capsules were difficult as my dogs will spit them out or did not eat them if mixed in the food. Pill Pockets are expensive, and peanut butter is messy. The other option is to open them up and sprinkle the contents on the food. But why then have a capsule, which is an extra cost?Next I used the Doggone Best, which is a loose powder. The digestive health continued without change. I only used about 2/3 of the 8 ounce jar before experimenting with NucleOtics.NucleOtics has a lot of yeast, and is only 2.12 ounces. Again, a loose powder with a tiny scoop. The loose stools returned, but not bad as before starting, but bad enough that I went back to The Doggone Best.My conclusion is that Doggone Best is the choice for me, although VetriScience is a good product.. Doggone offers good value for an effective product. The drawback is the scoops in Doggone and NucleOtics are tiny—easily lost in the jar, and a lot of powder ends up on one’s hands. I suggest that you get an idea of how much product is right for your dog—using the scoops provided a few times, then toss them and simply sprinkle the powder on the food. Adding some water or canned food to kibble will help it stick and be consumed by your dog[s].Overall, mark me a big believer in probiotics for dogs!

Do something about your “scooper” issue
I have not seen the results yet, so I can not speak about them. But you guys gotta do something about your packaging with the scoopers. It arrived and I had thought it doesn’t have a scooper, so thought the instructions were odd because of that. I figured one scoop probably meant one teaspoon, so I gave my dog a full teaspoon today. Then found the tiny scoop (smaller than a teaspoon for sure) at the bottom of the jar in the middle of the powder after reading on here that spoons are sinking. You should probably just attach the spoons to the outside of the bottle, in the plastic wrap around the bottle. It would avoid potential complications that seem to be happening a lot. I’ll let you know whether or not my dog s**ts his brains out today...

Upset stomach
Use with caution. Both times I introduced this probiotic into my dog's diet he experienced massive stools and explosive diarrhea. He's a little guy at 20 lbs., only requiring 1/2 measuring spoon full each day (and the enclosed measuring spoon is very small). I didn't have a reason to put my dog on a probiotic other than the fact that I thought it would be good for his gut.*Note* my dog ate this product consistently for about 16 months. After the initial "clean-out" and massive stools that lasted 1-2 days, I do think the probiotic was a nice addition to his diet. He experiences no reactions to the powder. We recently moved and prior to moving I hadn't been feeding him the probiotic. Two days ago I began sprinkling it on his food again. Big mistake. I've confined him to one room today and have been following when he gets up because of the diarrhea. My dog doesn't have stomach issues unless he eats this. I should have learned my lesson the first time. Not saying this is a bad product, but your pet should begin taking very small amounts and build up to the max amount recommended for him/her.I tossed this. I just can't spend hours upon hours following my poor dog around. Ask you vet if a probiotic is really necessary before purchasing.Pro: The product will last you well beyond the expiration date, especially if you have a small dog.

A miracle drug to us and for sure blessed relief to my oldster!
My 11 year old dog has had a significant problem with mind as well as food, refusing to eat especially when the weather was bad. Today rain, boomers and he is in the basement with the radio under the breakfast nook(he can enclose himself-safety I guess), he came upstairs and was licking like I`m hungry, he had 2 helpings of chicken and kibble. We were both dumbfounded as our guy would usually not eat during this weather. Sounds stupid I guess but he has been a nicer, more loving dog and messes around with his 4.5 lb. sister to her absolute delight more. It is so cheap and we have spent tons of money for him, both conventional vets. and homeopathic vets this is a Godsend. One night my wife was desperate so I considered putting him back on prilosec but the canine sites were against it for long term as dogs should have four times the acid levels as us and this could create problems. Thanks for this probiotic!! We had even been giving him injections of B-12.

Awesome Product!
I started feeding our Lab this probiotic about a month ago after trying several different dog foods. He is very gassy so we tried the whole grain free thing and nothing changed. Then we found out chicken doesn't sit well for him so we switched to salmon...then his farts just smelled like salmon, which is pretty terrible. Then someone recommended lamb, as it is supposed to be good for dogs with funny stomachs. The lamb food definitely decreased the frequency of the farting, but it was still a problem. Finally, it occurred to me to try probiotics. We tried another brand sold at Petsmart but it was expensive and I would always forget to give it to him after dinner. I am so glad I found Doggone Best Products Dog Probiotic because our lab no longer farts! I just sprinkle the recommended amount on top of his dinner and he doesn't seem to mind. Besides the fact that we enjoy not having to clear a room because of a dog farts, we are also happy that our pups tummy seems to be more settled! I will definitely purchase this product again.
