Ice Cream Scoop by DinaChef, Ice Scooper with Best Stainless Steel Spoon (Single)

The weight and rigidity is fine, but the shape of the scoop does not make it easy to scoop out a "ball" of ice cream, like the old-fashion scoops do. I am skeptical of an ice cream scoop with anti-freeze in the handle. Some reviewers said theirs leaked . . . and who wants anti-freeze in their ice cream :-(

I got this as a gift for my sister for Christmas. She looked for years to try and find an ice cream scoop that was one solid piece of metal. Since most ice cream scoops are plastic or they have handle made out a different material, they tend to break on her easily. But she loves this ice cream scoop and say it's the best present she's gotten in years!

Finally a simple product that works. I have been trying to find a good Ice cream scooper that will dig into a hard frozen chunk of ice cream and lift out a good scoop full. This tool is solid, it does not bend, twist or otherwise distort. No bells or whistles, just a great ice cream scoop.

I specifically but stainless so I can have a product for a long time without having to replace it. The bowl of the scoop is all corroded and it's really not that great for scooping.

Scoop is way too small, at least for big hands. Looks to be quality materials, but I had to purchase another scoop that I could get my hand around.

I, unfortunately, was not impressed by this ice cream scooper. I think they forgot to infuse mine with heat. The first scoop went okay, meaning it scooped easily and dropped the scooped ice cream into the dish but it went downhill from there. By the second scoop the scooper end of the scooper was wanting to keep my ice cream for itself! By the third scoop (I was scooping three bowls so still had several scoops to go) I was running over to the faucet for the hot water and to clean my fingers because I had to force the scoop to let go of the ice cream by pushing the ice cream out forcibly. Once I warmed up the scoop, the process started over and by the second scoop it was keeping my ice cream again. I placed the scoop in the sink and went back to my original ice cream scooper that actually does what this one claims it does.As for the design: the handle is much thinner than I had expected it to be, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but if my ice cream was very frozen, I think it would be uncomfortable to use because the edge of the scooper handle would dig into my palm. It is also much lighter than I expected. For some reason I expected it to be heavier, more industrial feeling, because the advertizing said it is the same type of scoop used in ice cream shops.I noticed that I was not the only family member in my house to give up on this spoon, both my son and my daughter switched back to our old scooper after only a couple scoops with this one.It truly pains me to give low star ratings but feel my honest opinion is more helpful to the general public. This ice cream scooper is not bad, it just does not work as claimed. I will be using it for cookie dough when I make cookies from now on. I feel it would work better for that than for ice cream.I received this item at a discount in exchange for an honest review.
