I have been obsessed with pricing and this is the best discussion of it
Madhavan's podcast episode on Patrick O'Shaughnessy's Invest Like the Best brought me here. I'm so glad it did.A+ book on the topic of pricing, which is something that too many operators and founders miss. I have been obsessed with pricing, and the process of finding better expertise in this area is convoluted. Madhavan is an incredible simplifier of this increasingly complex topic. This is the most useful discussion I’ve encountered on pricing and packaging products. For anyone that is running a business or selling a product, this will get you closer to the customer and inspire many new ideas.

Practical Advice with great illustration
Excellent book. They strike the right balance between the theory, real world use cases, check lists and implementation guide. Highly recommend.

Outstanding. A must read for every leader in the digital age.
This book caught my attention after reading a long-form post on product pricing by the author Madhavan Ramanujam on LinkedIn. Madhavan turns the concept of product pricing and customer segmentation as we know it, upside down and produces engaging content that is insightful and practical to implement. The ideas in the book continued to stay with me no matter how busy I was with my business activities as it really forces the reader to think through the application of the ideas in your particular context. This is a must read book for anyone looking to succeed in the digital age with their products and services. Now more than ever there is a clear need to differentiate your offerings in the crowded market, Madhavan shows that pricing alone executed well could become one of your key competitive differentiator.

Some useful advice, but overall a fairly generic business book.
Overall I think the book outlined some good concepts that founders, owners, and executives should take to heart if they don’t know them already — different monetization models, how to price, common pitfalls, GBB pricing, etc was very useful.Where I think the book fell apart was when it mentioned case studies and stories from businesses of the world — too much of it felt like analysis after the fact vs actual data, or cherry picking stats without mentioning the other side. The other thing I hated, but is increasingly common amongst business and sales books (including this one), is that at some point you feel like the author is trying to sell or monetize YOU, which makes the book feel more like an ad near the end. Eg “Try our free tool online! We’ll definitely not put you on a mailing list or try to upsell you even further after that!”.It’s like a salesman that couldn’t just make a book that is purely informative, they have a compulsion to slip back into their default state of extracting another potential sale from their customer.Overall some good concepts, but if you do purchase this book as a first pass read just the summaries at the end of each chapter, and only if you feel you don’t understand the concepts they mention should you go back and read the chapter fully.

Accessible and actionable book on the complicated topic of pricing
Fantastic book that takes the complicated topic of pricing and makes it accessible and actionable to anyone on any budget. Couldn't agree more on the authors main point that pricing needs to be part of the upfront product discovery research and not an afterthought after the product has been built. If all product teams followed the authors advice, a lot more products would achieve their business cases.

A few insights but nothing that most people don't already know...
This author offers a few case studies to support his claim that smart pricing leads to higher profits. There's nothing earth shattering here, just a lot of sound advice. It reads like a lengthy pitch from a consulting firm promoting their offerings to a large company with deep pockets.
