Great motherboard, no issues at all
Amazing motherboard and works perfectly with no issues. Setup was straightforward and everything worked out of the box. Build quality feels solid, BIOS is easy to use, and it’s been stable with no crashes or problems so far. Great option for a Ryzen build and definitely worth the money.

Reliable B550 Board with Great VRMs and Features for the Price
I’ve been running the MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK since April 2024 in a mid-range gaming and productivity rig, and it's been an excellent experience all around. Setup & BIOS Booted up with a Ryzen 7 5800X and 32GB (2x16) of G.Skill DDR4-3600 without any hiccups. BIOS was easy to navigate, with MSI’s Click BIOS offering a clean layout and decent fan control. Flashing BIOS was painless using the Flashback button — no CPU required, which is a huge bonus if you're planning to future-proof or use an older BIOS chip. MSI also keeps BIOS updates frequent, which is reassuring for long-term support (especially on AM4, even late in its lifecycle). Connectivity & I/O Rear I/O is generous for the price. You're getting: -2.5G LAN (Realtek) — big upgrade over standard gigabit -Plenty of USB ports (including USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A and Type-C) -Optical S/PDIF out — rare at this tier -6x SATA and 2x M.2 slots (top M.2 supports PCIe Gen 4, bottom is Gen 3) It doesn’t include built-in Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, but I knew that going in and added a PCIe Wi-Fi 6 card. Easy enough fix. VRMs, Cooling & Performance One of this board’s standout features is its VRM design — the 10+2+1 phase layout with decent heatsinking keeps things cool even under heavy loads. I’ve done moderate overclocking (PBO and curve optimizer tweaks) and haven’t seen VRM temps go over 65°C, even with sustained multicore loads. Plenty of fan headers and good PWM control in BIOS or via MSI Center (if you use it — not everyone likes it). Audio Comes with Realtek ALC1200 codec. Not “audiophile-grade,” but more than enough for casual gaming and media. I do appreciate the clean signal with no background hiss when using my headphones directly through the rear jack. Build Quality The board feels sturdy — reinforced PCIe slot for your GPU, metal heatsinks with decent mass, and a well-labeled layout. No flex, no cheap-feeling components. M.2 shields are a nice touch too, though they’re not the thickest around Minor Issues -No built-in Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, so factor that in - -

Good Solid AM4 Motherboard
Good quality board bought after trouble with a Gigabyte 550 board. Just the job, easy set up and installation.

Great Board, Layout Could be Better
I found this board really easy to install - being an ATX board there's plenty of space. It comes with a heat sink to help keep the primary NVME disk (if you have more than one) cool, and it has *loads* of fan connectors distributed around the board (at least 6) so that cable management can be kept under control. It also has RGB headers at the top and bottom of the board which are useful if you're into RGB. I used the BIOS custom fan curves to set up my fan curves, which lets me keep my machine cool & quiet without needing additional software slowing down Windows. Check out YouTube for loads of videos on MSI BIOS - I found it more confusing than old school style BIOS set-up, but having built in overclocking if you want it, is nice, as is the fan control. My one real quibble is that the primary NVME is tucked in between the GPU and CPU, which means if you want to replace it (or as in my case, it dies), you need to remove your GPU and CPU cooler to be able to get to it. The secondary NVME slot is really easy to get to, and it's a shame they're not the other way round. All in all though, I do like it, it's really good value for a B550 board, and happy to recommend. 5 stars - I love it 4 stars - I like it 3 stars - It's ok 2 stars - I don't like it 1 star - I hate it

Best Value B550 Motherboard
I wanted a good looking motherboard for my Black and White themed build. I didn't want an X570 as I would have to deal with annoying chipset fans. I then came across this motherboard. It had all the features I wanted. 6 system fan headers, POST Debug LED's, PCIe Gen 4 (only on the the first M.2 and PCIe x16 slots), M.2 heat sink with a Thermal Pad. The VRM's are solid and are easily handling with my Ryzen 7 5800X. Didn't need to update the BIOS using BIOS Flashback as it is April 2021 and all AMD 500 series Motherboards should have the new BIOS update if it was manufactured before the Zen 3 launch (November 2020). I am using a PCIe 4.0 M.2 NVMe SSD and a crystal disk mark run shows that I am getting Gen 4 speeds, even with a PCIe 3.0 GPU. I haven't touched any slot configuration settings. The BIOS also allows you to use voltage control on 3 pin fans. This was really god as the fans that came with my case are only 3 pin (Be Quiet Pure Base 500DX). The only "problem" I had with this board was that the grounding tabs on I/O shield weren't properly bent, so they went inside of the USB 3.1 and Ethernet ports. I tried to bend them back but ended up cutting my finger so I took unscrewed the Motherboard and moved it across slightly just enough so I could take out the I/O shield and bend it back properly. I accidentally broke one of the legs on the tab for the USB 3.1 port but the other one was still intact. This problem wasn't a huge deal but I recommend that you make sure that all the tabs on your I/O shield are bent properly. It wasn't necessary to bend it back but I did it anyway. Overall this is an excellent AMD B550 Motherboard with loads of features. Only cost me £130!!!
