Beautiful mug with great hand feel!
Beautiful mug, I have all versions. GREAT hand feel, especially the wooden handle which prevents heat from traveling to your fingers. The inside is a beautiful sky blue allowing you to see the strength of your tea.Downsides: two but very minor.1. I wish it was about 2-3 oz larger.2. I won’t put it in the dishwasher because of the wood. However, neither of these should stop you from buying this beautiful mug if it suits your fancy. It is more beautiful and feels better than it looks.

Burned myself with it. Wouldnt give as gift, but kept it anyway.
Let me tell you about the terrible experience I had and why I kept the cup any way. Maybe cause I’m new to infused tea in a cup, I made a huge mistake. The product kind of feels like it’s made of cast iron around it, which is cool and masculine, but because of that when you are infusing your tea, you can only hold the cup through the handle, every where else is too hot. So as I was sitting down on my couch and held the tea cup through the handle, I decided the tea was ready went ahead and attempted to remove the lid and the infuser at the same time to move them to another cup on a side table next to me. What happened was, the cast iron “feel” around the infuser was so hot while I held it and let the water run out of it back into the the cup, I had to put it back in cause I couldn’t hold any longer due to the hot metal and I didn’t think I added that much water but as I put the infuser back in place, the water didn’t get back into the infuser properly causing it to overflow out of the edges of the cup and fell all the hot tea on my pajama shorts, on my thigh. I quickly got up and went to run my leg in cold water to stop the burn. Long story short, I was severely burned for weeks with a big spot on my leg and I kept using Neosporin and a huge band-aid for weeks so it wouldn’t scrape on my pants. Bottom line, the cup doesn’t have much of safety features, so you are on your own with it, no instructions or safety practices came with it. There is no way to remove the lid and the infuser without burning your fingers, so you should do it with a towel, which is a bit of an inconvenience for a tea cup that has an infuser and is supposed to make the process easier. I’m not pouring water from a hot pan in the 1800’s. I was also hoping from the pictures here that it kind of fell into place and clicked in some way to lock the lid and the infuser down in the cup, but when you move the cup with the lid and/or infuser in it ,it feels like you are holding a little tea plate with tea cup on it, it’s shaky. At first I was so upset and hurt with the accident, I was gonna return it next day, but I’ve decided to keep it, because it is a very beautiful cup of tea, and I found it hard to find a simple infuser cup with no flower drawings around it here on amazon and I wish it was a little taller/bigger for visual purposes. You can only do about 4 to 6oz of drink, which is just enough for me. I can also do other drinks like coffee or iced drinks in it. Lots of my co-workers compliment it, the truth is, no cup of anything is worth $30, or at least I haven’t seen one that is. This cup should be $10.99 or something. It does feel strong without the lid and infuser. The inside part of the cup is painted light blue, which im ok with, but I would have preferred black or white. I wouldn’t want to give this as a gift because I would be worried someone would make the same mistake I did and burned themselves because of my gift. The tea gets very hot but you have to be careful not to hold from the wrong parts. I would only use the infuser part close to the sink to avoid any accidents around you and/or around your house.

Part of the Morning Routine
I appreciate my loose leaf tea. This cup has become a great part of my morning. I was getting tired of using a separate container to brew my loose leaf tea or use a tea bag I had to fill. With this cup, I can brew the tea in the cup with the inner compartment and I love that it comes with a lid. The cup comes in a beautiful box which makes it a great gift as well. I highly recommend this cup.

The strainer is the problem
It’s beautiful, sure, but there’s no way to take the strainer out without a mess or burning your fingers. :(
