A series that everyone should add to their must-read lists as if you love New Adult books, this series will not disappoint.
If I had to pick a series that would be one of my favorites or at least in my Top Five lists, it would have to be the Rosemary Beach series as everytime I read one of those books; I get happy as I get to catch up with the characters from previous books. I love how everything just connects. In The Best Goodbye it tells the rocky love tale of Captain aka River Kipling - Remember River is Blaire's half brother that has come onto the scene in Mase and Reece's stories and Rose aka Addy. Years ago, these two met when Addy was placed in a foster home run by River's mother at the time. She fell in love with River over the years, and he loved her too - more than siblings, these two were meant to be together. The pair as they get older, eventually sleep together and then tragedy strikes and Addy ends up in the hospital and alone. Years pass and the two lose contact, River who now goes by the name Captain believes his Addy died. The truth is Addy known now as Rose escaped and had a baby girl - Captain's daughter. Her daughter keeps asking about meeting her father, so Rose goes to work for Captain to see if he is worthy of her daughter's love or whether he will hurt and destroy her. There is something about Rose that Captain can't put his finger on as she is secretive, but she reminds him of someone, what will happen when the pair start spending time together, and Captain discovers the truth of who Rose is and what she's been hiding from him all these years? Is Captain ready to be a father or more so does he believe he deserves to be one especially after he has spent most of his life as a mercenary? Will the Best Goodbye have Captain saying Goodbye to his past and moving forward to his future or will Rose not find him worthy of gaining her daughter's trust and love as she has done everything in her power to protect her daughter from the life she lived and experienced? Find out in another amazing book in the series Rosemary Beach. A series that everyone should add to their must-read lists as if you love New Adult books, this series will not disappoint.

Loved getting to know River/Captain
4-4.5 stars. The plot to this story surprised me in the best way. River, or Captain, is in Rosemary Beach, opening up a restaurant so the setting is not the Kerrington Country Club. All the employees are new characters, including Rose, one of the servers. Rose has been watching River closely. She knows him, and she knows him very well, where it was completely baffling to me that Captain doesn't even spare her a second glance of recognition. Talk about intriguing, because Captain doesn't have amnesia. I needed to know more about these two.Learning more about their history explains everything and why Captain doesn't even know that he should be looking for Rose. She definitely reminds him of someone very near and dear to his heart and the resurfacing memories bring him a lot of pain, forcing him to push her further away so he can keep the past buried.Captain is very cold, distant and outright rude. It's definitely a front for the River inside of him. He's also done things in the past that he's not proud of, but felt it brought him peace and justice. He's not close to anyone, not even Blaire, because even she doesn't know the details of his upbringing (although Blaire and River didn't grow up together, they are both expert shots with a gun).Rose is trying to gauge if Captain is someone she wants to know in her life right now, because from what she can see, he's a far cry from the boy she grew up with. Rose is very cautious, resulting from her horrid time in foster care, when she met River. She's hardworking, intelligent and independent. When Captain finally discovers who Rose really is, can he prove that River isn't completely gone? Would Rose accept Captain when she knows the truth about everything? River has always been an interesting character to me and I liked getting to know him in his own book because there's so much more to him than what was revealed in the past. Great story overall, Captain and Rose's history is complex and could have easily been spread over 2 books. While it ended in just the right spot, I also felt like it was rather abrupt, too, but also look forward to the next book since I have a strong feeling as to who both of those characters will be.

Abbi Glines is a genius, theres no other explanation!!
Writing all these fantastic books is I credible, writing each one so that they, and each character, links together, is simply the work of an incredibly talented writer!I was a bit sceptical about this book, I'm afraid to say I wasnt too keen on captain in reese's story, but I think I've ended this book just as much in love with him as I am Rush, grant, Mase, the list goes on!!I love the way this book is written, delving into their past along the way! I've been so engrossed in these books, devouring one after the other, the only drawback being that I only have 1 left to read now! I'm a TA so I'm on summer holidays, but I havnt been at home for most of it, I've been in Rosemary Beach!!
