Don’t skip over only because it’s a foreign series
Good grief I almost missed this unbelievable gem! Scrolling through endless series and movies that I call ‘15 minutes and out’. Who knows why I do this but it’s a much honed skill of a streaming junky. (Like reading a book if 1st half of 1st chapter not a grab, so long, with a bad review) This K-drama (I learned) I got hooked immediately by the unbelievable soundtrack.. the ears kept my eyes watching and then the actors, the characters and the mystic story had me watching with screen hypnosis! Over 16 hrs! My husband asked what are you reading…. Shush, I’m watching can’t you tell by the ear buds. Wow!!! And then, there was a lot I missed in the translations, expressions not matching etc etc… gotta rewatch. Off in watch # 2 . This took a couple days. Watch are you watching now… “I might be hooked in the K- drama genre). The what! But as I continued in to my 3, 4 and 5 th watch, while Netflix presented my likes as in Korean my husband said.. what’s happening. Summary, it is a refreshing, sharp, emotive, heart touching romance, mystery, drama, comedy and I loved the actors. Tired of the usual stuff.. give it a visit.

The King is a unique, yet iconic series.
Very different from your typical Korean drama, but good nonetheless. Kim Go-eun is fantastic, as always, in the role of tough, yet vulnerable detective Jeong Tae-eul and Lee Min-Ho is perfect as the “king.” This role did a great job showcasing how much he’s matured as an actor. The stand out in this series was Woo Do-Hwan in the dual roles of Jo Yeoung and Jo Eun-Sup. He did an excellent job in making these characters completely distinctive from each other and thus different people. The series does have it flaws, spending time on scenes and characters that have no impact on the overall story. The villain could’ve been less one dimensional and the character of Prime Minister Koo was done a disservice. There’s was much potential with that character, but it was wasted on tired tropes. Despite these problems the series was beautifully shot. The cinematography and the attention to detail that went into the overall look of this show was very well done. The story itself is cerebral. Thus it requires focus and deep thoughtful when watching. All the characters had great chemistry and the love story was different, but wonderful nonetheless. Lee Min-ho and Kim Go-eun had a natural chemistry that made the evolution of their characters’ relationship believable. The DVD set was packaged well and thus far the quality of the episodes are as good as the original airing on Netflix. I’d definitely buy from this seller again.

Travel to a parallel world
I love this movie. Then again, Lee Min-Ho is fantastic as Lee Gon, a Korean emperor, who is transported during thunder and lightning into a parallel world where he meets a female police inspector whom he immediately recognizes. And that's because when he was eight years old, his father was killed and although injured, someone saved him and left their ID police badge alongside him. Now 25 years later, the police inspector's face and ID on the badge match that of the new female police inspector in this parallel world. And she begins to help him find the men responsible for Lee Gon's father's death. This story takes you back and forth from his world into the parallel world and is truly a unique blend of crime, love, and hope. I recommend it highly.

Love this drama
I saw this on Netflix and knew I had to have my own copy. It is one of the best KDramas I have seen. I have watched it a number of times. The acting is so well done. I especially like how they reference the famous Korean poet Kim Sowol, whom I knew nothing about until watching this. I have since purchased a copy of his book "Azaleas". The music is so good also. Even though I don't speak Korean, I looked up the translation on YouTube, which brings a deeper meaning to the drama. I recommend this DVD.

Excellent Film With Amazing Cast
I loved everything about it. It had science fiction, intrigue, action, dual acting roles, mystery, suspense, comedy and romance. It didn't get the positive feedback from viewers initially due to casting problems, but with time it became a Netflix hit. I have watched it more times than I can remember and purchased the DVD.

Very Entertaining
Great Korean drama with excellent English subtitles. A high budget production involving alternate universes with good character development. Do Hwan Woo really steals the show with his double performance as two characters from alternate universes. Highly recommended.
