As a teacher this is a great demonstration of electrostatics and everyone is in awe even when compared to the Van de Graaf generator in the same lesson. Out of the two in the package, one never worked and with a little tweaking (moving the batteries around) the second did. Just having one work was worth the price because the fly stick is a great attraction repulsion demonstration. I took the one that never worked apart so I could show students the guts and how charging by friction was achieved. If you are a teacher buying these as a class set, I'd order a few extra expecting some to not work and some to stop working. It would be 5 starts if they always came working and stayed working. For the price it's worth is even if one comes working.

These are very good, and a cheaper alternative to the more expensive electrical charge wands. I used them in my science class to demonstrate electrical charges and my kids loved them! The foil shapes are a little flimsy and stick to things easily, but that is to be expected. I definitely recommend these as a fun toy or as a useful science demonstration item for Elementary or Middle School kids.

One of them worked mediocre, reaction occurs about an inch away from cardboard & tinsel floats only about that distance from it. The second one hums at a lower pitch & doesn't react with the tinsel, the tinsel just clings to it. I tried six different new batteries.

My son has had one before and he LOVED IT I KNOW ITS A GREAT FUN PRODUCT! My son is 8 he got one about 2 years ago. It has broken recently and have been craving another again. So I found this one and wow 2 really empressed me!! I bought it yesterday and it comes Tommorow wow really fast I know these are really fun and cheap. The other didn't even have stickers and it was the same brand.(that's why the review is early)

Haven't used the wands yet but wanted to make sure readers know that this is not packaged for gift giving. Came in a brown box with a big sticker on it like it came straight from the factory. See photo. I bought two of these as gifts and as packaged no child would be very excited to open this.

These are fun toys for sure! I bought two packages of these and only one package of wands worked, the other package of wands did not turn on. I would have rated it a 5 out of 5 if they all functioned and I didn't have to return anything.

They work well and come with a generous amount of flying objects but none of the sets I received included the book to store the used tinsel objects in.

My kids love these things. The metallic pieces tear easily, but that's to be expected. Saw similar wands priced one for $18 at a gift shop, so these were a steal.
