I really love this smokey eye kit. It comes with everything you need to make a gorgeous, yet easy, look. I'm not the best at doing eye shadow and the more intricate looks can be SUPER intimidating, so a smokey eye is really my go to. Its the PERFECT look for beginners or people that don't want to spend a lot of time doing their makeup but still want to have a dramatic or noticeable effect. It can be a daytime or night out look and, i feel, really draws attention to your eyes without having to spend 20 minutes on them with tons of different shadows and tons of blending. I'm really pretty inept with eye shadow looks but am able to really pull off a smokey eye- so i have faith that even the most inexperienced person can handle this set! I also have really sensitive eyes, so not all makeup will work with me. I wore this eye shadow set for the majority of the week i have had it and can say that it doesn't irritate my eyes like other products can. Also, I love the shimmer in these products (and other Alexis Vogel products i own) because In just the right light it really catches your eye and in pictures with flash it really makes a difference.This kit comes with a smudgy eyeliner pencil, a potted eye shadow, and some glow dust/loose shadow all in a cute little bag that can be used to hold them on-the-go if you wanted. The smudgy eyeliner is a thick pencil so you will need a bigger pencil sharpener to sharpen it. It comes in a black/dark charcoal shade with some shimmer in it. I LOVE the shimmer to it and that its noticeable, but still subtle enough, to not be too over the top. It applies smoothly and you have time to smudge it as much, or as little, as you want before it sets and dries. Once its set it's not going anywhere either! I used it all week and really put it set to the test. I couldn't be happier. It lasts all day with no smudging or creasing and i don't have to worry about raccoon eyes after a night out. It lasts through sweating, yawning, and laughing until i'm in tears. It's one of my favorite eyeliners at this point. The potted eye shadow is also a gorgeous black/dark charcoal shimmer. It is insanely pigmented. A little goes A LONG WAY. I barely had to put any on my brush and i feel like it will last me forever so you get your moneys worth with this set. It blends great and really brought my eye look together. Lastly, was the glow dust. I'm in LOVE with it. I will say it again, IN LOVE. It's a gorgeous gold/bronzed shimmery loose powder. HIGHLY pigmented, so will last for ages as you only need a little for a big payout, and its really versatile and can be used for so many things. It really sealed the deal in convincing me to get some of the other glow dust shades available. You can use it in the corners of your eyes to really lighten and bring attention to them, or you can use it as an eye shadow on the lids. Depending on how much you use you can do a more subtle shimmery look or put on a little more for a stronger shimmer. I also have the Alexis Vogel eye primer and using it with this glow dust really brings out the pigment and shimmer. I felt great with it on. You can also use it as a highlighter for your cheeks or for a dewy 'sun-kissed' look although it is lighter than traditional darker bronze shades. I also saw somewhere when i was looking into getting this set, that you can mix it with lotion for a shimmer body lotion. Of course i had to try that and i loved it. It didn't stain my clothes or anything and i know that's a concern for me when i want to put traditional eye makeup in lotion. I just want to bathe in it for new years (kidding...not kidding!). It gave a really subtle shimmer to my legs and chest and i can't wait to sparkle on new years and mix up some more. I didn't have to mix that much into the lotion either so unless you want to look like unicorn poop (nothing wrong with that though!) , i'd stick with the 'a little goes a long way' motto! It's easier to add more shimmer to your liking than taking some out so work your way up to the desired effect.(I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.)
