Works Well, Replaced an older, burned out cable lighting transformer. and saved money!
Years ago, we purchased a halogen cable lighting system which has served us well for many years. One of the things I did to save on the lighting costs was to change the MR16 50-watt halogen bulbs over to money-saving 5-watt LED bulbs. While this saved on electricity, over time it caused wear on the transformer which was designed to handle much higher wattages. The transformer burned out when one of the LED bulbs burned out, so it needed to be replaced. Of course, the manufacturer for the cable lighting system does not exist anymore, so I had the choice to replace the entire system, or see if I can replace the transformer inside the switch box.I purchased the WAC Lighting EN-1275-R-AR Electronic Transformer, 120V - 12V 75W Max because it matched the 120V input as the old transformer was labeled inside the switch box. The specs for the WAC Lighting EN-1275-R also listed it can handle 5W min -75W Max which is well within the wattages I use for the LED MR16 replacements. After cutting out the old heavy transformer and wiring and soldering the connections into the transformer box, I plugged in the transformer box and connected the cable lighting system. After hitting the power switch, my lighting system worked as it did before! What’s amazing is I was able to replace the transformer myself, and the transformer is much smaller and lighter than the heavier OEM transformer which was inside the cable lighting transformer box.As the instructions state, you should be familiar with installing lighting applications, and should consult a professional if you don’t know how to install a transformer. Because I was familiar with installing smaller electrical applications and had the proper tools, I was able to do this with the WAC Lighting EN-1275-R myself and save a few hundred dollars over purchasing an entirely new cable lighting system.

This transformer will cause LED lighs to flicker.
This transformer will cause LED lighs to flicker.Transformer is dimmable and it is 110 -> 12V converter and it can definitely handle 150W, BUT this is not whats called a "magnetic driver", rather its an electronic ballast, and by design causes LED lights to flicker, it will work for any incandescent (including halogen) bulbs.Had to learn lesson hard way, spent time installing this unit on the track light with LED light bulbs, then was scratching my head , could not figure out why light start flickering.

Great device for a water-tight installation.
For an outdoor installation, this driver is a great way to do a nice water-tight installation. Using the factory driver for outdoor lights, this install was for fountain lights, you run the risk of water intrusion and a call-back. This unit is small enough to fit into a single gang box.... see pics.

Perfect Replacement
I used these transformers to replace older units installed on my under-cabinet lighting in the kitchen. They were easy to wire up, and have higher capacity and efficiency ratings than the old units, justifying the slightly higher cost. Pay for the better units, you won't have to replace them for many years.

Not Good...
We are on our third one now (in 4 weeks)... and its now on-the-blink...The first made a funny noise when the lights were turned on followed by a pause before the bulbs illuminated. The second was dead on arrival (but I had to fit it to find out :-)...The third was fine (after a week) but failed to come on yesterday morning but worked in the evening.Amazon are very responsive and very helpful, but we just want one that last more that 3 weeks, please!

Good replacement for WAC dimmable downlights
I was skeptical about this product since some reviewers said it did not dim with standard dimmer. Mine dims fine. No need for expensive LV dimmer. Installation was a breeze. I eliminated the ground wire, which was included in the original light. It fit in housing though it was slightly bigger. Good product.

Even smaller then my 10 year old WAC that needed to be replaced.
This was a replacement for an old WAC power transformer that had 10 years of service. The new one works just fine, hope I get another 10 years out of it also.

Failed after a few weeks of light use.
Bought this product to run three pendant lights each running a 35 watt lamp. Transformer worked great when first installed, but failed after only a few weeks even though I was only pulling 105 watts on the 150 watt rated unit. Not the first issue I've had with products from this company. Customer service is good, just don't have the time to waste reinstalling their products. Look for another product.
