Beautiful stuff
Really nice, delicate flavour and super balanced acidity. I find hippo to be really expensive you’re far better using them direct to save the money to bring it in line with other brands. This and the George street are class

If you've got a local cafe that sells it, go there first!
It's not in me to give a 1 star review, because I was happy with the beans I got from a cafe in London. But because I haven't got one local to me I tried ordering beans on here.. pretty gutted to be honest, I would of got more taste out of grinding coco pops than what I did the coffee beans (thats what they resemble). Was meant to be the same notes/flavour but it was the total opposite, quite bland! Nothing like the cafe stuff.

Delicious
Bought these beans as something different to try and am genuinely really impressed – this is coffee with personality. The quality is superb… a gorgeous, rich, smooth flavour with an undertone of honey. I would recommend this to anyone who loves coffee, real coffee; the sort that takes time to make and appreciate. Not inexpensive but absolutely worth it.

Save your money and search on
So, I bought this by mistake. It came up in my search results for 1kg coffee beans and I didn’t check. My fault. No returns policy meant I had to try it. Wish I hadn’t. Normally I buy a local blend and it’s nice. I’d run out and wanted something nice next day delivery. Well it came next day (👍) but using today, it tastes pretty bland. Not worth the almost £40 a kilo price tag. Go look up Aroma in Shrewsbury and try their mountain blend for just over half the cost. But a kilo and they post for free. So, in short. Don’t buy this. It’s not a kilo, it’s 250g. It’s mega expensive and tastes pretty lame.Don’t be like me. Choose better.

My favourite coffee beans fo far...
I heard a lot of recommendations about Kiss the Hippo and thought the George Street Blend would suit my coffee preference - I was absolutely right! Not bitter at all, great level of acidity and you can taste the chocolate, berry and butterscotch notes. I've almost finished the bag and I am very excited to try the other options from Kiss the Hippo!
