Amagi Brilliant Park Complete Season 1 Collection
T**E
A fab and fun offering from the dude who brought you Full Metal Panic!
This is Amagi Brilliant Park, adapted from Shouji Gatou’s light novels of the same name. I won't spoil the story too much but essentially, Amagi Brilliant Park is a pretty funny (albeit totally wacky) 14 episode series about high school student Seiya Kanie being asked on a date in pretty dubious circumstances by Isuzu Sento to Amagi Brilliant Park (AmaBri), a run down amusement park on the outskirts of Tokyo of which is mostly operated by Maple Landers (fairies and other magical beings from Maple Land). During the course of the date, it is explained that if the park does not get 500,000 visitors by the end of July 31st, the park will be shut down with the employees losing their livelihood as well as other more serious implications to Princess Latifah Fleuranza who is part of the Royal Family of Maple Land, of which will be revealed! Due to their plight, Kanie reluctantly gets recruited to be the manager of AmaBri in order to try and turn things around, leading on a fun journey in the life of a theme park manager!Shouji Gatou is known for his critically acclaimed light novel/4 season anime Full Metal Panic! so if you’re a fan of FMP especially the Fumoffu season, you’ll absolutely love AmaBri! The show is full of nods to the FMP series (you’ll know what I mean when you watch it), especially with Moffle, the lead cast fairy of the series being based on Bonta-Kun! AmaBri runs this gag throughout the entire show of which is hilarious! You also learn about Mr Gatou’s musical tastes, with Seiya Kanie named after Kanye West, Sento Isuzu named after 50 Cent and Princess Latifah named after, (yep you’ve guessed it) Queen Latifah. Make of his musical choices what you will! However, it must be said that you don’t need to be a fan of FMP or Shouji Gatou to get the show; it’s just 14 episodes of feel good light TV with a decent plot and a bit of budding romance between the two leads!I purchased the Collection Box Set with the complete series, as well as the OAV included charting a day in the life of the park after the conclusion of the main story arc. As mentioned by the other reviewers, you do NOT get the Plastic O-card, Rigid Collector’s Box and Bonus Poster. You just get a standard BluRay Case which consists of 2x BluRay discs and 3x DVD’s both containing the series. As of April 2022, Amazon still has not updated their product description, but hey it is what it is….As you expect of a Kyoto Animation production this is another visually outstanding show, with 16:9 Full HD aspect with a Dolby 2.0 TrueSound soundtrack. The OST of the show is awesome as well, with both a decent opening track (Extra Magic Hour by AKINO WITH BLESS4), and closing track (Elementario De Aimasho by BRILLIANT4). You can pick the OST up on many music streaming services. The English Dub is a Sentai Filmworks Production, and I found it very good. Both Adam Gibbs (Kanie) and Molly Searcy (Sento) acted the characters excellently, however my favourite would be Tetsuhige (the pirate seal) who’s played by John Swasey. The extras included are pretty standard, textless openings and closings for the Intro and Outro Music, in addition to some advertisement to other anime that Sentai Filmworks has license to.I really recommend checking this out, not only to those Full Metal Panic and Kyoto Animation Fans out there (of which this is mandatory), but to anyone who just wants something funny and easy going to watch. Watch it, you will have no regrets! :)

Such a great anime !!!!!!!
If you just want something to relax or watch something with great animation ,superb voice acting (and of course I am talking about the Japanese dub ) and of course enjoy the memorable and funny and very well written characters that this anime has to offer, then this anime is for you and has to be on your collection no matter what . In my humble opinion it fully deserves the money it asks .But before I leave, I want to warn you that the product does NOT contain the things that Amazon has on their description and I am talking about these "Collector s Edition Blu-ray available for a limited time only includes: Plastic O-card, Rigid Collector s Box and Bonus Poster." You only get the Blu rays and DVDs... nothing more nothing less

It's Kyoani, what do you expect? (well, maybe not that dub)
I'll start with the negativesFirstly this collector's edition is underwhelming, but that's generally what you come to expect from manga UK, if you've seen the US collector's then you know exactly what I mean as that is loaded with physical extras, this just has two extra cases and a poster, it makes you wonder if they were even trying with this collector's release. The dub, for most Kyoani localisations there are solid dubs, Haruhi Suzumiya, Full Metal Panic! Fumoffu! these are some of the best dubs in anime, Clannad, Kanon, K-On! these are solid dubs, not without slight issues but still solid, some of the later ones do have one or two more issues, but they are still generally good dubs or they just have one character that brings it down. This dub however is really disappointing, some of the voices aren't bad, but some fall flat, others just don't really work in how they have done things, overall it's kind of bad, but more than that it's generally painful on the ears and affects your enjoyment, I just can't sit back, relax and marathon these episodes with a smile on my face like I can do with the sub or I can with the other dubs I mentioned above. So for the best experience, this is one of those where you are better off watching the sub.Now for the review and the positives, and as it's Kyoani, there are a lot of positives.Story: There is a failing themepark, a student is roped into trying to save it, he must achieve 250,000 guests in three months to do so, can he do it?Well yes, of cause he can, we all know he's going to succeed in the end and turn things around because that's what happens in these things and if he didn't then it wouldn't leave things open for a potential second season (which Kyoani have no real interest in doing at this moment)So, if we already know how it's going to end, what's the point in watching? Simply put, because like all these types of anime, it's how you get there that's the fun part, and as the twist with this story is that most of the characters are actually from a fairytale land and those aren't costumes, this only adds to the shenanigans.Obviously this is a comedy, and it's focus is on its characters, they are brilliant and their interactions make this show, the only slight issue with the characters is when you know the origins of their names, it kind of ruins the immersion a bit and I wish the author hasn't done that, I can live with Moffle being a Bonta-kun imitation, after all that's the joke, and it's the same author as Full Metal Panic! But Kanye West, 50 Cent, Queen Latifah, you have to ask, why?The art, goes without saying, Kyoani make some really good looking anime, they are well animated and this is no exception. The sound is good, just avoid the dub, the soundtrack does it's job but isn't especially memorable, the only memorable part is the start of the opening song.Overall it's a really fun enjoyable anime, I would recommend it to any Kyoani fan

2 Blu-rays, 3 DVDs and a Poster. No Plastic O Card.
So far it is a great watch, quite funny and I'm happy with the purchase. It said in the description on Amazon that it comes with a plastic O card and I can see where it would be in the case (underneath the poster) but it wasn't there and on the listed features on the box it mentions nothing of this O card thing. So I think there was some confusion there between the US and EU copy.So don't expect it.
