Built well
I haven't had the opportunity to use it in action yet, but it is built very well. Should last for years.

Stab big fish!
This spear gaff is very easy to use and quite strong. Anthony has speared multiple big fish and it works great! Highly recommended.

Solid and seemingly rust proof
Love how through the most abuses it hasn't even thought about a rust spot. I added a prayer cord wrap to the handle to tie it off and it's worked phenomenally

Okay, but wouldn’t trust this as-is for the critical moment
This is essentially a threaded rod with an angled top inserted into a large dowel, lightly reinforced. You could make one of these at a hardware store. It has a foam grip but the wood is relatively unprotected elsewhere with a coat of poly, needs to be sheathed for saltwater. It’s basically ok, but seems a little fragile for its purported use long term. I put epoxy on the end grain of the wood, and then wrapped the whole thing in athletic tape.
