**Edit #2** After my last edit (and changing my 5 star review to 1) I was finally reached out to by another customer service employee. A replacement was sent to me and is working great (we'll see for how many months). **Edit** I've had this sharpener for about 5-6 months and it has stopped working. The SmartStop feature is triggered as soon as a pencil is put inside, so nothing gets sharpened. I contacted their customer support and explained what was happening. I was emailed troubleshooting about having the machine turn on, that is not my issue. I sent a response but have heard nothing back 20 days later. **** The SmartStop feature is great! In the past I've had problems with sharpeners eating away pencils when students shove them in. There has also been no issue of points being broken mid-sharpening. Our pencils are now lasting a lot longer! The large shavings bin is nice that you can let it be for a long time. I will say that it gets pencils crazy sharp, our coloring pencils are stored in cups and I've switched to having the pencils bottoms-up to avoid all the pokes when grabbing a certain color.

It is fast. It is sharp. It is MATH teacher approved. Keep this one behind your desk. It is one you do not want kids to mess with. It will last you years. Keep the colored pencils away from it, and it will keep those pencils sharp. It has a large tank so you won't have to empty it every week. I got it in August, and have not emptied it yet. It is now January. Quoted from a kid - "That's a pencil sharpener right there!"

This product is very simple to use it automatically adjust to the pencil size. So, when I have to sharpen my youngest grandkids pencils, I do not have to change anything. It has a nice large storage compacity for the shavings and is so easy to empty with the front pull out tray. And no settings to have to mess with just put your pencil into it and it goes to town and stops at a perfect point on the end of your pencil.

Very nice pencil sharpener used in my class, but unfortunately it broke. Not sure what happened. Would love another one at a discount please somebody contact me.

This is THE BEST pencil sharpener I've ever had. I've been an elementary school teacher for 12 years and I get so frustrated with the burnout rate of pencil sharpeners, or how they just don't get the pencils sharp sharp. I've already gotten 3 more of these for various purposes because not only is it the best, it's a great price for a heavy duty pencil sharpener. I have never allowed colored pencils in my electric sharpeners before this year, and now I'm not afraid to let the kids get their colored pencils nice and sharp because even if it burns out in a year, the price is unbeatable. I love how it stops when it's as sharp as it's going to get with a blue light indicator. It's as loud or quiet as any other pencil sharpener. The ONLY problem is the shavings tray does not stay put. So it slowly vibrates out of place as you sharpen and the sharpener will not work without it fully in place for safety. So I just put tape on the sides, problem solved. If you have a classroom, buy this. You won't be disappointed!

I am a teacher and put in this in my classroom at the beginning of the 25-26 school year in August. On 12/19/25 the device stopped sharpening pencils. I thought maybe it had overheated or something and figured I'd wait until I was back for teacher planning to take another look after cleaning it and giving it a rest. Nope. As of 1/2/26 I can say it absolutel does not work. My school is pretty small, only about 60 students total so it's not like it was being used all the time. I loved it while it was working, but I'm a little miffed that it only made it through half the school year... Pros: -sharpens quickly -sharpens relatively quitely compared to other devices on the market -holds a lot of pencil shavings Cons: -lasted only 6 months with light-moderate usage

So far it works fantastic! Although usually electric pencil sharpeners work well at first, so will see how long this lasts. It is fast and has not broken any pencils or gotten jammed, although I have only sharpened about 10 pencils or so. It is much larger than I expected. But because it works so well, I decided to keep it.
