Comfortable and Breathable
Comfortable. They're also breathable everywhere that the padding isn't placed. While these may not provide as much protection as some, they are extremely comfortable so I'll actually wear them every time I ride.

May be the most comfortable bike pants I have ever owned.

Not enough padding on the sides
These shorts are comfortable to wear. The chamois does not bother me for XC riding unlike what other reviewers have indicated. My concern is with the limited amount of protection on the sides. The protective padding does not cover the hip joint properly. This was obvious when I first put them on and my worries were confirmed after my first crash with the shorts. I took a severe hit on the area of the hip joint that was not covered and luckily walked away only with a limp. The bruise stayed on my skin over the hip as a reminder for more than a year. I wished the manufacturer was not so cheap and enlarged significantly the padded area to cover the hip and the femur bone more extensively. I give it 3 stars because the shorts are comfortable to wear and not too hot (although a lighter grayish color would be better) and because whatever area of your body is covered by the padding is well protected.

Great shorts especially the body armor. Bad sewing!
First of all- I really like these shorts and particularly the body armor aspect. In my research for the last few weeks so far, its the best I could find. HOWEVER all three pairs have the same design error or is it a manufacturing error. The left inner thigh seam is frayed. It looks like it will eventually unravel . So what is that: three stars, four, certainly not five?

Protected my hip in a hard crash!
I've had my Pro-B shorts for maybe 6 months or so. I do agree with some people complaining that the leg opening is tight, but I deal with it. It gets better the more times you use it.I've been reluctant to leave a review until I fully experienced the protection those pads provide. Well, yesterday I finally crashed my bike pretty damn hard. Flew over the bars, landed on my entire left side. There were obvious marks of impact on my bike shorts, but my hip was fine. My shoulder's a different story since I had no protection. Today, I can feel a slight bruise on my hip if I pressed my finger on it and I am absolutely sure that if I did not have my g-form shorts that I'd be in much more pain. I can say with confidence that THE PADS DID THE JOB!

My S size shorts fit correctly my 30in waist, ...
My S size shorts fit correctly my 30in waist, however the lower part of leg has an elastic band that is really tight and uncomfortable to wear. I had to take it to the tailor to get that thing off. After that the shorts went comfy.

Almost work but not there yet
I am 5'-8" @160 lbs w/ a 31" waist and have bird legs. I wear size medium in everything except for large above the waist. I had a bad crash a few years ago while mountain biking that resulted in a full hip replacement so I was in the market for some protection. After reading rave reviews in Mountain Bike Action magazine on these I bought a size medium. Because I knew I needed protection I really wanted to like them but I had to send them back for three reasons. 1. the opening at the legs was so tight it felt like they were cutting off circulation to my lower legs. 2. the chamois is spares at best and would be ineffective on long rides. 3. The top pad on the right side was digging into my side. I called the manufacture about the leg size opening and they said they have been getting a lot of complaints. So many that they are in the process of redesigning them to correct the problem and the revised product should be ready for the market by the Spring of 2018. So no bad crashes this year. I hope!
