Compact and powerful
This is a serious work horse. My hotdog compressor is rated for 150psi but can't inflate my 110psi fifth wheel tires! This little unit brought all four tires up to the recommended pressure in about ten minutes. It runs on 12volt power with big clamps directly to the battery so it works anywhere. It clamps onto the valve stem so you don't need bionic fingers to hold it on. It does get hot, but not dangerously. Highly recommend this for RV travel and nearly unlimited other uses.

Top Notch Quality
I purchased this air compressor to air up my Jeep 33” tires after going off-road. The Viair compressor is relatively quiet and fill speed is very good. I wanted to go with a slightly stronger (faster) model, but I needed to stay under 40 amp draw. The bag, hose and fill is top quality - much nicer than the off brand units. Highly recommend.

Blow it up
Perfect for my 33” and it way quieter than I was expecting and much faster. It’s not the fastest but definitely gets the job done in a reasonable amount of time.

An excellent Portable Compressor (but not perfect)
I wanted a portable, reliable, high quality, quick & powerful tire inflator. This product has all of those qualities in spades! It is probably way more compressor than I need for my three passenger vehicles: a small commuter car, a minivan and a full size van. This obviously durable product comes with a quality carrying/storage case. It inflates fast! Do not walk away from this product while it is in use (there is no auto-shutoff and, again, for normal size passenger tires it will quickly raise pressure). It is also surprisingly quiet while operating compared to the cheap inflator I purchased at Lowe's (two of which broke down on me in as many years, which prompted my search for a quality product). This is easily a 4.5 star product, but I'm consciously choosing to not round up to 5 stars because there are some design flaws that should be addressed: 1) The 25' long extension coil hose that comes included is really only going to give you 12 feet or so of working distance (i.e. for those working solo). You won't be comfortable stretching the coil out all the way. Even if you tried, the tension would cause the portable compressor to be dragged around on the ground. You can get further distance with a second person - one to hold & operate the compressor and one to attach the tire chuck & read the pressure gauge (keeping hold of the coil to relieve tension from the tire valve). I understand that these coiled hoses are designed to operate this way, but ideally the power cord, the coiled hose itself, or both would be longer. The easiest solution would be to double the length of the power cord - it is not bulky and the carrying case would easily accommodate the added length. The current design is unable to reach from my full-size van's battery to the opposite rear tire. Another reviewer provided the ingenious solution of using jumper cables to extend the working distance of the portable compressor - it was a brilliant suggestion that worked perfectly for me! 2) Oddly, the clamp-on tire chuck ("lever style tire chuck") is a bit deep. What I mean is that the tire valve must be inserted into the chuck quite far for it to engage properly to allow air flow. I purchased this particular Viair model in large part because I wanted the clamp-on style chuck versus a screw-on connection. Unfortunately, my van has chrome valve stems (see picture) that are beveled just enough, such that I cannot get the tire chuck on far enough to properly engage. My solution was to purchase an adapter ( Fafada® Motorcycle Motorbike Tyre Valve Extender Adapter Car Bike 2 Pcs/Pair (90 Degree) ), but that means I'm back to a screw-on connection. Too bad - it seems like being able to insert the entire threaded portion of the Schrader valve into the tire chuck should be enough, but it's not. 3) One must turn the compressor off to get an accurate tire pressure reading. The power switch is, naturally, on the compressor, but the pressure gauge is way over at the tire. The whole 25' coil is pressurized at the same pressure as the tire. It would make more sense to install the gauge at the end of the coil that attaches to the compressor (where the on/off switch is). This would make for better control and easier monitoring. A longer hose or power cord as discussed above would make this a non-issue. The three flaws above are the difference between an excellent product and a perfect product. While they prevent me from giving a perfect 5 star rating, they should not deter anyone from purchasing this excellent portable compressor.

Buy Cheap, Buy Twice
I regularly go off-roading in California's deserts and wanted a reliable way to add pressure to my tires when returning to the pavement, and to reinflate tires after a repair. I purchased this compressor in 2010 after my cheap, barely adequate $25 "tire inflator" from a department store chain stopped working. I have had zero problems with my Viair. Uses: In addition to the uses above, I use the compressor every couple of weeks to top up one of my tires that has a slow leak. I just used it to quickly top up the tires on my wife's van. I have also used it to inflate my kid's wading pool via an extra attachment that came with our bicycle pump. Pros: Well made and reliable Easy to connect to the red battery terminal and ground via the alligator clips Positive latching on to the tire stem Pretty fast inflating of even large tires Consistent readings from the integral tire gauge Packs up into a relatively small package that can stay in any vehicle 24/7 Carrying case is handy and makes storage easy Cons: Gets warm after a couple of tires and needs to cool off before packing it up The coiled hose offers a lot of resistance, making reaching the last tire a struggle Getting the compressor back into its case takes a little work Bottom line: Good piece of gear at a fair price point. An additional bonus is that I can forever skip the quarter-fed, nasty gas station air stations that seems to pump as much moisture into my tires as air.

Good quality kit
I bought this portable pump about 3 years ago for fixing flats on the road. I keep it stowed in my truck under the back seat. It has worked very well. Its convenient enough that I use it at home to maintain tire pressure in all of our vehicles. Its been a reliable tool with good build quality. Good to know: The pump gets hot for a bit, so you need to let it cool before re-stowing it. If you have a lifted truck the power cables might not allow the pump to reach the ground. The pressure gauge only reads when the unit is off. That makes for a little back and forth when you want to check progress. Not hard to let out excess pressure, though.

Mucha potencia para el tamaño de compresor, levanta la llanta de una camioneta pick up desde el piso sin ningún inconveniente en cuestión de minutos.

Well built and quiet. It is heavy for its size but that just tells me that it is a quality product. Used to pump up a farm tractor tire in the field. Got the job done.

Die Gerätetasche hat Stockflecken und stinkt intensiv nach Chemie. Trotz mehrmaligem Waschen und Lüften ist der Mangel nicht zu beheben.

Easy to use. Inflates tyres quickly. Good carry bag for neat storing.

Works quickly and is fairly quiet, pumps up my stock 265/65/17 tires in no time and packs away neatly in its case.
