Sharp and smooth and easy to handle!
We thought our old bread knife worked, but when we bought this one, wow! It cuts the bread my husband makes and our bagels so much more effortlessly! There's NO MORE sawing of bread, one swipe and it's cut. The handle is thick and shaped well, so it's easy to hold and perfectly dishwasher safe! A great improvement on our old bread knife!

nice and sharp, comfortable handle
this is a great bread knife. i didnt really need to replace the high quality bread knife i already have but this seemed so sharp i thought i would try it. i am glad i bought it. it is sharper than the old one and i use it so spread butter and jam on toast too. it really works great on the spreading part. not very expensive either and it is a quality piece of kitchen ware. i really like the rubberized handle, it too is very comfortable and fits my large hands just fine

Great knife
Solid construction, great bread knife. My neighbor recommended it for cutting homemade sourdough, and I can't agree more. I love this thing.

Best serrations
I bought this knife because a popular cooking channel on YouTube told me to. They were right, the serrations in this blade are legendary. This knife doesn't so much slice bread and pineapples, it more just looks at the food and the food falls apart in consistent slices; you can call this the Chuck Norris of serrated knives. On the other hand, the grip is a little too fat for my preference; on the other-other hand, that could be just because I came from a thinner gripped, forged knife before this. The recommendation was for a 10-inch and I bought 8-inch; in hindsight I would be happier with the 10-inch after all. My only complaint about the knife is that the serrations are filed in only one side of the edge, making the knife slice diagonally for the first inch into the food. If Mercer were to file the serrations equally on both sides of the edge like a chef knife, they wouldn't call this thing a "knife" they'd call it a "lightsaber".

works well, HUGE handle
seems to cut well, but the handle is HUGE. Like made for a man's hand. The huge thick handle also makes it more difficult to store. Doesn't fit well into my knife block and could barely fit it in a drawer (took up a lot of room).

Well made, well functioning knife
I had to buy a completely new set of knives and decided to go with different knives from different manufacturers for different purposes. This is the bread knife and I saw it recommended on various sites. It's worth it. The size is just right and it fits in my Butcher block. Does a great job with bread. Highly recommend.

Fantastic bread/slicer knife
I picked this bread knife after seeing comparison reviews like Americas' Test Kitchen. I'm glad I did. A no-nonsense tool. Inexpensive but does its job very well. An ergonomic and grippy handle. The scalloped blade was sharp out of the box. With the larger spacing of the teeth, the cutting edges make it easier to start the slice - as the ATK review pointed out. Also good for slicing chicken breast. Still sharp after weeks of use and no rust (I don't wipe dry after washing).
