Overall, I'm satisfied but it could've been better.
This fan/light combo was purchased to replace a smaller "fan only" appliance. I had to enlarge the ceiling hole a little bit and it took a few fittings to get it right. ( There will be a rain of drywall dust and insulation! Wear eye protection, dust mask, and long sleeves! )The housing is designed to be mounted to a rafter on one side only. Even after snugging it tight and using 4 screws, the far edge sags about 3/8s of an inch from the ceiling. It was impossible to get back there in my attic so I have to live with this but it isn't particularly noticeable where it's mounted. That is something to consider if it will be in the center of a room or you are very picky. This is an easy fix if you have room in which to work.Test your wire connections BEFORE finishing the installation! After securing the wires with wire nuts, I plugged the light in to be sure it worked, then unplugged it and proceeded to install the fan module. Unfortunately, I knocked the wire housing loose because the fan was such a snug fit and the wire housing was not. When I finally got it installed, it did not work! So I had to take it out, re-connect the wires, and re-install the fan, which then worked. The next challenge was when the light fixture was hooked onto the support "hinge" (the only way it would fit) and the wires didn't reach the plug. I had to unscrew the round printed circuit board cover on the back of the light module and spin it halfway around, only then the round peg didn't fit in the square hole. Literally. There were two pegs to stabilize the 3" plastic cover and THOSE couldn't be changed. But the too big square one was nipped off with side-cutters, the thing was screwed into its new position, and the wires reached the plug. Then the light module swung up and was screwed into place. The decorative trim frame ( you are given a choice of 3 in the box) popped right into place and was the last and by far the easiest part of installation! The instructions could have included more detail but I muddled through. I had a couple of screw packs and a metal flange left over because I never saw a picture of that part anywhere. It's a mystery! The fan moves air well and is fairly quiet with no rattles. The light is bright and fairly soft for LEDs. Overall, the quality of the product is fine but the installation details were not well thought out. You can wire the light and fan to operate separately but that requires the purchase of an additional wiring module not included in this package.I give this only 4 stars because of the light wires not reaching the plug as it was shipped, and for the sagging housing. If I weren't an experienced rehabber, this story would not have a moderately happy ending!Update: 23 MAR 2022 - A few months after installation the LED started blinking randomly. An electrician told me it was a bad "bulb" so I called Broan and talked to the wonderful [real person!] Stephanie, who was very helpful! I emailed her screen caps as proof of purchase ( Who ever heard of an Amazon "receipt," right? ) and she is sending me a replacement LED module. So I'm revising my 4-star review to 5 on the basis of exceptional customer service and the 3-year warranty!

I have two perfect fans already, but this one was previously used, unfortunately
Unfortunately, this one I received I finally learned from the contractor that it was previously used and the fan makes a banging noise. I was instructed to write this review since my original note for return did not mention it I only mentioned what I heard him say that the fan banged noisily. Otherwise the new units I have are beautiful and work perfectly. I love these fan light combination units and already have two that work perfectly well.

Decent kit so far, noise level is low
Replaced an original fan in the house. Originals are installed when the house is built, so the install of this piece is much more complicated, as the staples/nails used to install originals were done from the top as the house was being built so you cannot get to the pieces you need to for it to just drop out.The opening is larger than a standard size, so you'll need a drywall knife or similar. The rest seems pretty easy.

Bought twice, broke twice. Do not buy!
If I could give this item a zero star rating, I would. I bought this product and paid $200 for an electrician to install. It started flashing like a haunted house light within a few months. Then I exchanged it for a new one and paid another $200 for the electrician to change it out. After a few months it started flashing again. I didn't want to pay an electrician again so I just ignored it for a few months until it finally burnt out all together. The fan still works so I just deal with no light because the thought of paying $600 of installations on a $167 light is not something I want to do. I've never left a review before, but the money I've lost on this thing is something I don't anyone else to go through. Just because the item can be replaced doesn't mean the cost of the electrician can be recovered. I would never buy this item, especially if you can't install yourself. It's a beautiful fixture, but does no good if it doesn't work.

DIY is Possible but May Be Difficult
Once installed, the fixture is efficient both in lighting and exhaust. If DIY without attic access, allow ample time to install. If attic has roof trusses instead of joists, you will probably need to add wood to the truss to firmly attach the box framework. You may also need to purchase a rigid 4 inch connector to attach the current flexible vent pipe. Also needed is patience and stamina.

Quiet and it moves alot of air.
I liked this fan so much I bought a second for another bath. Installation was easy enough if you have any skills at all. Light is bright enough but not blinding. Moves a bunch of air and is super quiet. Installation of the light panel is impossible if you try to use the slip on clip with the power wires attached and you can't attach the wires with the panel in place. I eventually removed the slip on clip from the light panel, it was 2 screws holding it on. Attached the wires. Attached one side clip and then placed the slip on clip in place and screwed it back on the light panel. That worked smoothly. It looks great without any grill bars or perforations that make it look like a fan. It really looks like a light and you know it is an exhaust fan until you turn it on.

Bright light, quiet fan.
No complaints except good luck installing without having to get in the attic. I like the fan and I like the light and I like to look.

Looks good
This light with fan looks good and does a good job. It’s pretty loud though. I do wish it was more quiet.

Just buy it!
The media could not be loaded. Led is super bright. My daughter says it like we live in a hotel now. The fan is a 1.5 sone and this is a huge upgrade from the crappy 3.0 sone builder crap they install in new homes. The instructions are crap but with some tinkering and know-how it will install quite nicely.

Silent or near silent fan noise
Very light fan noise (whisper silent). Also has light (LED) which is an added feature.
