Lower Bearing Carrier Puller Fits for Yamaha Johnson Evinrude Mercury Honda Mercruiser, Compatible with Most Gearcase 115hp and Above (Black)

My only warning with a carrier puller this substantial is to offer this cautionary note- don't wind this up so tight, so incrementally bend your prop-shaft. There comes a time when seized is just seized.

This did the job on my 225 OX66. Wanted a different brand but they were sold out and in heinsight I’m glad I went with this as it did the job and cost less! Probably (hopefully) won’t get used all that often, but nice to have in case I do need it.

This puller looked very good out of the package, at first glance. Very heavy and appeared to be well made and I thought it might do the trick on removing the bearing carrier on my Evinrude/Johnson outboard. When assembling it, it all went together fairly well, although the two cross bolts for the arms were difficult to install. One of the holes was drilled and threaded poorly, but I finally got it in place. The main screw/ram is very heavy and should take any torque someone would want to apply, but the threaded area inside the body of the puller had about 1/3 of the threads all deformed. Looked like someone did a very poor job of threading it at the factory. That should have been caught with most any quality control. I did not have to worry about breaking the arms on the puller, because the hooks would not catch the back side of the bearing carrier enough to actually put any usable torque on the tool. The advertisement said it was for an Evinrude/Johnson and Merc lower units. I can tell you that it did fit inside the housing on the 90 hp Johnson, but would not get a solid enough bite to actually pull anything, just slipped off with torque. I would suggest either hiring someone to remove the bearing carrier, or plan on spending about twice as much or more and purchasing a quality puller. This puller may work if you were pulling a fairly new bearing carrier that was not firmly stuck in the housing. My homemade puller and my slide hammer is how I got it to come out.

This lower carrier bearing puller works good on almost all lower units except for the smaller Johnson units which it has to be modified slightly to make it fit but still does the job great overall it's a good cheap tool as an alternative for the OEM style tools

Very well made

First one arrived without one of the holes drilled in it so couldn't mount both arms. Amazon shipped replacement and it will be usable but one of the holds was slightly off angle and will require some opening up to allow the bolt to screw in fully. Would return but need this to complete some work so will live with the crappy quality control on this item and make it work.

This tool is complete garbage. The threads are so poorly made the bolts wont seat all the way. The casting is so poor they put some type of coating on it to make it seem smooth. It's so bad it gives garbage a bad name. I wish there were negative stars to rate it

Broke while using first time. Cheap cast material and will not hold up to any pressure.
