Sandless Sandbag - Reusable, Biodegradable - 5 Pack

We had the heaviest rains in a decade recently and I was struggling with water in my gargage. I am not able to lift and carry things that are too heavy (too old, bad knees and hip) and I live alone. These came on time and well packaged with an instruction sheet. They were easy for me to move around. I was skeptical, but they really did work and I thought they were easier to use than the water tube type barrier I bought.

While the bags definitely filled up during our rainstorm they did not stop any leaking and have continued to be very swollen. Not sure I can use them again.

Great idea if they work. Haven't tried one and hope I never need them. Nice to know I won't have to find and carry sand to fill bags.

Seems to work OK. So far they have kept out the water. Unlike sand, these bags will dry out and lose volume.

Did the trick. A few minutes submerged in water and they are heavy like real sandbags. Saved my apartment from flooding.Update: Don’t use these again. I tried drying them out, but the burlap rots over time and the gel will burst out from the bag when you get them wet again.

We bought theses over 4 years ago. We live on a smaller lake. August 27, 2018 we received 7.5 inches of rain in over night. It got even worse. The neighobring lake had the right to release their dam with out telling us., we could prepare and release out smaller dam, we still would have flooded. That was an extra 10 inches of water , with more rain for 5 days. These bags were still good after years of sitting our garage. There was no time to get sand bags to fill being this was 5 AM!!!!! We got out our saturated carpet before it went into the drywall. Now the other lake is required to inform us when they release their dam! This is a 100 year flood zone! I couldn't have been happier with this product. As for drying them. We didn't bother, they did their job. Thing would have been lot worse.

Bought these to put against the outer wall of our basement after water seeped in after months of constant rain. Well the water have not seeped in since I put them down, so had not idea how effective they were until I put them around our AC unit, which has a condensation leak. The house got really hot and I needed to turn on the AC for a bit. These things absorb the water really well and kept it from spreading through the laundry room.

I think they will come in handy. No heavy sand bags to move around. The idea is exactly what I wanted, but by the time I received them over a holiday weekend the waters had retreated and I didn't have to use them, but now I'm prepared and I do feel safer if I have a problem. They are easy to store.
