COOLEST architectural element!
COOLEST architectural element ever!!! These added so much to our southwest style living room. You can pick your stain and really get these to go with any motif. They were packaged so well. It took some time to receive the beams. But it was totally worth the wait. It was easy to do the gel stain on these ourselves too. Kinda a fun DIY picking stains to complement the other woods in the room. We used two different colors. We cut them with a jig saw, they "cut like butter". Measure a bunch before you cut because you only get one shot! Our walls are curved going to the ceiling so on a flat wall its probably a lot easier. They were easy to mount we screwed into the chunks of wood we stuck to the ceiling. We've already received so many compliments from everyone who has seen them. I'd definitely recommend getting these.

Beautiful and beautifully priced.
This beam! Why are there not more reviews!? First off this is the best price. I needed a 12'6" beam and this one was 13'. I was able to easily cut off 6" with a hack saw and used the scrap piece for my mock up. After painting it with chalk paint and making my driftwood beam dream come true, my husband and I mounted it to the ceiling with ease as it is super light. The textures and grain is realistic and made painting it an ease (with some technique). I thought it would look too rustic but I'm super happy with it.With that said, the beam was delivered with about an 18" fracture. I was able to repair it with some liquid nails - you couldn't even tell where the fracture was now. Amazon gave me a fair credit back so I'm happy.

Look Good But Some Warts
Purchased 3 - 12.75 foot beams. All arrived safely (well packaged) but had to push the shipper because they didn't move for 2 weeks after pickup. I thought I was purchasing Outwater products but the box said Designer's Edge. Found these issues: Dark spots on 1 beam that would show if you are using a light stain. Bubble repair caulk was squirted over the surface of 1 beam. Closed end is far from square in case you are not planning on cutting it off and need to butt flat against something. Also, if you are counting on no more than 8 inches width I found numerous places wider with some going over 9 inches. Will update after installation.Update: Used Minwax Gel stain with good results. Bedroom was able to be cut from one piece so was far easier than the living room. Before measuring for length, had to square cut the factory cut ends since mine were not square. Living room required joining two pieces. Used PL3 adhesive to cement the pieces. Then, once installed on the ceiling, used more PL3 adhesive to smooth out the joint surfaces where needed. Used wire brush on PL3 to simulate existing marks on the beams to hide the joint. PL3 can be gel stained.Be advised, my internal beam walls were not all straight and/or the same thickness so some adjustment of the ceiling cleats lineup and widths was required to fit on the cleats and make the beam look straight on the exterior. A laser beam tool was extremely useful. After installing, found a factory joint within a single beam piece which is visible if you look closely. If I had known this, I would have razor knifed these raised lines out prior to staining. Note, if using poly flat as top coat be sure to stir the can contents regularly to mix the flat component into the rest of the ingredients. Otherwise it will lay on the bottom the can and your beam will be shiny. All in all, after some extra work, the final result looks very good. Maybe not a DIY project for everyone.

Gorgeous
These turned out better than we could have imagined! Friends and Family are blown away with how good they look.We made numerous attempts to find the right stain color and they took two days to dry but we are extremely happy with the end look.

Love these!
Was put off from buying these because of the cost... but now we’re kicking ourselves for not buying them sooner! Used them to cover some small unsightly structural ‘beams’ that were small and not great to look at. These were easy to cut with a hack saw and chop saw. We cut some small pieces to fit into awkward angles and glued them into place. You can’t even see the small seams. We hung them using long general purpose screws.
