New cooler vs. stock
So I have an ancient computer (4 years old) running a MSI board. It was completely stock until now. I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 processor. I was told about a neat program called Core Temp and use it all the time now. While using Nero to burn a movie, my processor was running both cores at 100%. My core temps were in the low 50*C's. Since this was an old system and hearing how the new coolers make a huge difference, I picked one of these up for ~$25 after a rebate from Corsair. My temps now never exceed 28*C. I feel much safer having my computer run at full processor power and never having to worry about temps. I don't think that the low 50's would have done any damage as the recommended max temps were in the low 60's, but the security just knowing that I am ok, and also being able to upgrade any computer by adding this baby makes me feel good. ALSO, I leave my computer running 24/7 and shut down maybe once a week or two for a minute. It shipped very quickly, but I do have Prime so that should have helped that. It came in its original packaging which is extremely padded. The box had stiff edges so I know it has never been opened. It was also really easy to assemble. I put both 120mm fans on in a push/pull config. To put them on, they come attached to a clip system(I dont know the technical term), which just slides onto the ends and clips into place. Very simple. NOW the only tricky part, and it isnt bad at all, was the mounting to the processor. Because this was an existing computer, I left the Motherboard and all other parts in place. I do have an aftermarket tower and I think it is a full tower?? Its huge. Now I think it would be very simple to attach if you are building a system because it would give you more room with the motherboard outside of the case, but regardless, not overly bad. I cleaned off the thermal crap off of my old processor and applied the amount recommended on the instructions(a pea size amount). Then when putting it on the processor, it seemed to move around a bit like the paste was more like Vaseline. I did get it attached and secured. THEN, because this thing is HUGE and it was inside the case, I had a bit of trouble attaching the power to the board because it was slightly behind the fan.Overall, because most of my troubles were because of my own doing, this thing is amazing. It has 4 copper tubes that attach to a huge aluminum fins. Both fans are running and I decided to add the resistors which bring down the fan speed, and a bit of noise. My temps (as far as Core Temp says) idle at 17-20*C. Max is high 20's so not much change. I am looking to do a major upgrade and build my own budget computer so I will report back once I have the new machine up and running. Wish me luck because this is new territory building my own.I will and have recommended this fan to everyone I know who has their own desktop. Corsair will have plenty of new customers in the future. Also, great small non spyware/adware programs that are useful and fun to look at even though I dont understand them all is Core Temp, CPUID and GPUID. They will tell you more about your computer hardware than anyone will ever understand. My set up currently:AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ Brisbane @ 2.095 MHzMSI MS-7327 Motherboard3gigs of RAMGForce 7300 GPU 512MbI think 400W power supply320g hard driveFresh install of windows 7 (previously Vista)Please let me know if you have any questions!

Very efficient
I've just got this CPU fan yesterday from Amazon. It take me about 1/2 an hour to install replacing the stock CPU fan. My CPU socket is 775 so it fits nicely. I have a full tower case and direct the air to flow out of the CPU using the exhausted fan location; by doing that, I have to remove the case fan frame in order to fit this CPU fan. It is big and awkward to install. When you install it, you need to put install it last; or, it will cover CPU corner and prevent you to plug in the CPU power cable and screws underneath this fan. After installation, it was amazing. CPU temp stays at 28-29 (C) degrees which is just perfect. If you notice in the BIOS configuration, the lowest warning alarm for CPU is 60 Celsius degree and my CPU is way below that warning threshold. The RPM is about 2000. My only complain is CPU FAN connector on motherboard has 4 pins, but all connectors in this package only have 3 pins. There is a split cable that allows these two fans to share 1 CPU FAN connector; however, one pin is not crimped and looses and I have to use two separate connectors (CPU FAN and Power FAN). I prefer to use CPU FAN because the RPM is control by BIOS depending on CPU temperature, but it can only happen to 1 fan. Other than that, the fan is almost perfect and quite.

No more Corsair products for me.
After a series of lousy Corsair products (cases, USB flash drives, power supplies), this is the last straw. The fan was preinstalled *backward* with rubber grommets that are *not* intended to be removed. Ever. It's not even a good fan, and moves very little air. I'm going to see if I can get replacement grommets, or else find something else that I can substitute for them, and probably install a Panaflo to get some real air movement.I can't believe the fan was preinstalled on the bracket. If you're going to do that, maybe it should point in the right direction. Just an idea.Worse, Corsair support are utterly useless. I've talked to them several times already about various of their products. I'm not going to waste my time on them again.

It's ok, just know what your buying
I bought this item as a replacement for a mongoose cooler who had the coolermaster fans die. This is a rather large cpu cooler.Pros - dual fans, good airflow venting, split cable wiring so if one fan dies like i had on my old one, you can buy a replacement.Cons - 3 pin plug for the fans. If you have a 4 pin pwm fan, you do not want to buy this or you have to change your bios to ignore the cpu fan as you have to plug it in somewhere else on the motherboard in a 3 pin plug.it is large... larger than my old cpu cooler and wouldn't fit with a full set of memory with heat spreaders. If you have low profile memory, you should be ok.I ended up buying a 4 pin pwm fan (so the bios would recognize and use pwm) and using my old cooler along with the one fan here (one as a pull for the pwm) and another for a case fan. I didn't want to replace my memory chips and this was way too large for the motherboard (asus p6T). Poor design in my opinion and poor planning with no 4 pin adaptor or option.

Ok for the money...Not what I expeceted from Corsair
Doesn't allow air flow direction to the back of my case..Disappointing..It took a while to adjust so it sat right on top of my Phenom II X4...Very simple, very light and on the cheap side...It however does work pretty well once you spend the time adjusting it..Good buy for the money...

Quality, just pure quality.
Bought of these about 6 months ago now to replace my stock cooler as i noticed my temps were starting to get a little hot for my liking.I know corsair have a good reputation for quality and products that work, so i put my money on them.Well 6 months on i havnt been disappointed, temps dropped over 20c, and barely move under heavy load (Im a gamer running a high end rig, so temp is important)Easy fitment, looks well good in a cable managed case. The only catch in my case, was that my corsair dominator ram has tall heatspreaders on it, so i had to unclip two of the heat spreaders to keep the ram in, as the cooler sits lowish to the board, unlike some which account for them but put extra strain on the motherboard.Would and have recommend this cooler to fellow gamers and hi-end system builders.

great cooler for the price
this cooler is great, keeps temps in check at anything up to 4.5ghzim going to upgrade soon though as im able to get my i5 2500k to 5ghz but the temps go too highhowever this is a great cooler for pretty much anyone, it clears my ram easily.
