Delta Faucet EP74855 Solenoid Assembly for 90-Degree Integrated Pull-Down,Chrome

As I understand it, the warranty period on the touch solenoid (under the sink and in-line with the supply line between the manual valve and the faucet outlet) is 5 years. Mine made it 6 years before failing. Although the temperature light was solid blue (e.g. battery is okay) the water would not turn on when the faucet was touched, a clear indication that the solenoid was toast. After some research, this item appeared to be the best and closest replacement to X00074948 (6 years ago). Received this replacement part within 24 hours using Prime. Perfect fit although you may need to squeeze the "shorting" clamp down just a bit to make solid contact with the metal fitting of the faucet. It took about 5 minutes to install. Easy-Peasey. Faucet now works again when touched. Light shows cold, warm, or hot water. All is good. Be aware that you can remove the solenoid while you await shipment and connect the two end of the supply line together at which point the faucet will operate manually.

Our 10 year old touch faucet had reduced water flow. Worked through the Delta Faucet videos for correcting the issue and those steps did not help. Contacted Delta Faucets to be sure this was the correct replacement. The installation was easy taking less than 20 minutes. The water flow is so much better now with the replacement solenoid. Only complaint is we use the battery pack. Our old solenoid part had a hole in the battery lid to hang the battery pack on a hook in the cupboard. The new one does not have this. It is a very minor change for us to rest the battery pack on the bottom of our cupboard.

Installation is straightforward. Had the original for about seven years took about 10 minutes to replace. Squeaked every time it turned off at first, but seems to be going away with use.

Fits perfectly. Exact replacement for factory parts. I unplugged my old set and snapped this one into place. Get a bucket for drippage when taking off old unit.

The original solenoid worked for 9 years before the rubber seal gave out. I purchased this replacement and installed it. It did not work. Upon close inspection, the receptacle port where the faucet sensor plugs into, is a very cheap item. It does not appear to make good contact with the plug. When comparing with the original receptacle, this looks either broken or a very poor quality component that Delta skimped on. I am returning it and buying a different model that looks better made.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: The product works well if the size for the ring sensor pipe is big. Mine was small and did not fit. Website called out as it is same part which is not as the ring was different.

Perfect OEM replacement. Installs in about a minute (if you know what you’re doing). Overpriced for sure.

Easy to install, works well replaced xx00074948. I just switched the clamp for the sink ground from the old one. The new one was too large.

I had to replace my 2014 solenoid assembly, all models built before 2018 use this new EP74855. I was extremely pleased with the speed of shipping, I had it the next morning after ordering. Delta also made a few improvements on the design which made installation easier. There is a mark on the solenoid so you can know when to stop tightening if you ever take it a part to clean, which is how I damaged my old one. I love this touch faucet and was surprised how much it bothered me not having it work for a day. Lol. I have no doubt this replacement will perform as well if not better than the original, the only reason my old one failed was me over tightening it time and again. I highly recommend delta products and this supplier on amazon, their shipping may be the fastest I have experienced.

3 minutes to swap out the old unit with the new one. Works flawlessly now. Wet faucet used to trigger on/off, not anymore with this new solenoid. Great shipping option, next day delivery.

This was the quickest fix and very easy to change on an already installed faucet. Just find the price was a little expensive for what it is.
