I experimented with several different combinations of rum, wine, and sweetener. I tried black rum, gold rum, spiced rum, and white rum. I tried Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Pinot Noir. For sweetener I tried, honey, date syrup and agave.They were all good (except for the first two batches which had too much wood taste). However, the combination I liked the best is as pictured, Captain Morgan Parrot Bay rum, White Zinfandel wine, and a light agave for sweetness. I found the agave dissolved much easier than using honey.I use equal parts rum and wine and around four ounces of agave. In the half-gallon Don Ramón bottle the liquid required and the yield are right about 1 liter. I usually let it age for at least a week before transferring it to another bottle.

Product came even earlier than expected. What thrilled me most was the fact that there was instructions on how to prep it up in different ways.

Idk why it tastes different. We have brought different ones from DR for us and to gift. We needed one ASAP to gift so decided to order this. It does taste different, also in my opinion for the price the bottle could be a little nicer. However, I knew what I ordered and my rating is fully based on the taste.
