I exercise outside a lot and therefore need waterproof gear for running and cycling. Brand new waterproof clothing is always brilliant when first purchased, but over time the waterproofing qualities fade and the clothes start letting water in. I have tried the wash-in waterproofers, but I’m not a fan. You need a special washing solution, which is always expensive, and then the waterproofer has to be washed in, so it requires two cycles in total in a washing machine. It feels like an expensive way to waterproof clothing, and I don’t think it works that well. It also isn’t a solution for items that you don’t want to run through a washing machine. This Scotchgard Heavy Duty Water Shield is great. I spray a fine layer all over the item of clothing or trainers, making sure to cover it well and letting it dry fully. I do this outside, as the product can leave a greasy film on hard surfaces and has a strong chemical smell. On clothing, however, it does not leave a greasy film at all, and once dry, you cannot even tell it has been sprayed. I usually leave it to dry and repeat again the next day. That is all it takes to re-waterproof a jacket or trainers. It is so easy to use and can waterproof several items with each can. It works really well, and since using it I have never felt the need to use anything else. I highly recommend Scotchgard Heavy Duty Water Shield for waterproofing your outdoor clothing.

Used on a couple of jackets and it appears to work very well. Easy to spray with a slight odour that quickly disappears. I did not find it sticky at all. I have since purchased more for different fabrics.

Excellent value for the money. I would definitely recommend buying the double pack over the single. I use to protect my trainer collection and due to the rest weather I've very pleased will protect adequately in wet weather protects the suede very well and have had no issues with colour change

Did my jacket with this after many a machine wash took away it's waterproof properties. I made sure I gave it a good soaking all over and left it to dry overnight and it worked perfect. Make sure you spray it outside as it really is potent stuff and the smell does linger on your clothes after drying but it soon wears off. Didn't affect the fabrics colour or softness/feel. Well packaged and arrived fast. I always trust scotch Guard products

Worked very well it does smell when being applied so do it outside.
