Marie Callenders Chicken Pot Pie
L**H
THE PICTURE LIES TO YOU! Learn to make your own pot pies and be free of GMO soy
ConAgra has destroyed this product which used to be equivalent to home-cooked chicken pot pies. Both Marie Callender's chicken pot pies and turkey pot pies are now made with isolated soy protein product and soy lecithin for the chicken and turkey meat,(interesterified) soybean oil, and caramel color. These kind of ingredients were not originally in the pot pies but now it's time to be cheap to the customers and add dye, versions of soy and preservatives which made me decide to not EVER AGAIN BUY. I actually bought all of my past pot pies from the grocery store from the single serve to the four packs. Secondly, the picture of the pot pies are deceiving; they are NEVER that full; I have reported to ConAgra that my pies had one piece of celery, four carrots, two pieces of onion, seven peas, etc. I have been cheated of what ConAgra said I should have in their pot pies I forgot that there were onions and celery. I just got tired of calling to complain so I decide to make my own pot pies, and yes, I am glad that I can do MUCH better. I suggest you consumers to STOP SETTLING when it comes to your products. It's your money these companies are stealing. These pot pies should be half off since they're part food and part chemistry. BUYERS, BEWARE!

Where are the veggies?
Crust has a good flavor and loved the fact that there was a crust all around.. however, when I cut the pie, there was very little inside.. hardly any veggie or sauce which made the pot pie almost all crust, nothing like the picture displayed on the box.. sadly, I would not purchase again.

Not what they used to be.
This pie contains maltodextrin and 4 grams of sugar. The maltodextrin is mentioned right up near the top of the ingredients list. It has the same calories as table sugar (4 calories per gram). Other than that the pie purchased had very little chicken - not like the way these pies were made formerly. As far as taste goes not great but certainly acceptable. The pie will make a decent but small meal.

Tasty and Good
They arrived packed in dry ice, so they were very fresh. We enjoyed them. Good flavor, veggies and portions of chicken.

Nowhere near what it used to be
I would give it zero stars if I could. Do not waste your money. As others have said, there is practically nothing inside. The chicken pieces are 100% disgusting pieces of inedible rubber. It's making me nauseous just thinking about them. Something has changed, big time, because these used to be terrific. I bought three at the grocery store and was horrified by the first one. Thinking it was an aberration, I heated up the second one a few days later and ended up eating just the crust and the two tiny pieces of carrot. The third one went into the trash. Yuck.

Prettty Good For Frozen Pot Pie
Even though it could use a little improvement, its by far the best pot pie I've gotten from the frozen food section. While other cheaper pot pies usually have some compressed mystery meat, these pot pies actually have large pieces of tender chicken breast. I thought the crust was great(I did bake it in the oven instead of microwaving it). The vegetables and chicken broth inside the filling also tasted great, My only complaint was the amount of filling. It was mostly broth. The amount of vegetables and chicken in the pie was not close to what was pictured on the box. I would gladly pay a little more money for these if they had more chicken and vegetables. They are a good portion and convenient for a single guy. While not perfect, for the frozen food aisle they are top quality. I will definitely be buying more of these in the future,
