Great for Travel
I use these exclusively now. They hold a surprising amount of soap and leave my skin very soft and clear. They also work quite well for travel as they have a string to hang and dry very quickly so I can pack it up shortly after use with just a quick squeeze in a towel, much more convenient than any other body sponge. My only complaint is that every third one will develop a tear after a bit of time and have to be replaced after 6-8 weeks instead of the usual 12-16, but that's a small price to pay for a better clean.

Too big, and where does the color come from?
The media could not be loaded. I give my lavender sponge a 4- stars because:1) A bit large, 5.5"x2.75" when wet (purple box), my previous .6oz Dr. Sponge measures 2.5"x4.5" wet (white irregular shaped box). My new sponge is a good inch longer than a smart phone that fits nicely in the hands.2) Where does the color come from?Overall, it works as a konjac sponge: exfoliating without scratching skin-a good alternative to washcloth.I might choose this or another konjac sponge based on star ratings, shape and whether or not it comes with a hook, and "flavor", in that order.

Spongetastic
Great sponge, but the very first thing I recommend doing is removing the string (unless you absolutely need it). For a while I'd use the string to hang it on a hook I have in the shower, but when you're actually using the sponge the string will pull on hair follicles and all-around just make the sponging process kind of unpleasant (as a male with a normal amount of body hair). Sponges certainly always benefit from hanging rather than just sitting on a shelf in the shower, but for me personally it wasn't worth the discomfort.

Used this bad boy for about 3 months before it started to break down. My only complaint is it's rather hard to get all the soap out of it and, naturally, if you leave any soap in it a musty smell will happen over night. Takes a long time to dry, as well, and unless it was 80+ degrees that day it was always anywhere from 20-50% wet the next day. It's extremely gentle and was PERFECT when I was going through a round of accutane. (Skin was hyper sensitive and "thin").

An Expensive Disposable Soft Sponge
Dr Sponge Facial and Body Cleansing Sponge is soft and easy to use. It fits nicely in one's hand too. However, I have not experienced any exfoliating powers of this sponge. Its maker claims that the sponge achieves the following:- Improves the overall skin texture- Yields a healthy skin balance- Clears pores, removes makeup, oil and blackheadsAfter using the sponge for several weeks, my overall skin texture remained the same. I am not sure what the second claim even means. It sounds more like a cleverly worded marketing technique than anything else. I haven't tried using the sponge to remove my makeup, so I cannot attest to its makeup removing powers. As far as clearing pores, oil, and blackheads, the sponge does not compare to my sisal washcloth, soap, and baking soda. All in all, I found this sponge to be yet another useless beauty product.

Waste of Money
Don't waste your money on this product. When I first began to use the Dr. Sponge, I loved it. It cleaned my face, made it feel soft and hydrated, and the sponge lasted a good two months. Recently I have noticed that the sponge has a very short lifespan, so I have been very careful in handling it. I ordered my last sponge on July 1 - and today, July 30, it disintegrated in my hand. I had to use a paper towel to scoop up the crumbs that it made in the shower. I do NOT understand what has happened to this, once very fine, product.

A fantastic alternative to those harsh loofahs
This is my second Dr. Sponge. These are very gentle exfoliators that are okay for everyday use. Summer is finally here in Cali, so this will be getting daily use for sure! These can last quite a long time if properly taken care of. It's important to let it air dry completely. After 2-3 weeks, I usually will chuck this into the washer and dryer along with my laundry for a thorough cleaning. Or you can hand wash, and then throw it in the dryer, or leave it out in the dun on a hot day. The heat should kill off any unwanted bacteria.Hope this one lasts as long as my first one did.

Four Stars
Have been using for a week now. Product works as described.UPDATE: After about 3 weeks the sponge fell apart. Worked great up until then. I will probably look for something with a longer life span than a 3 weeks to a month. I did use this as a body scrub sponge so that probably shortened the life. Would probably last longer as just a facial sponge.
