Noticeably brighter than stock, however needs larger difference between tail/brake mode
My initial impressions (only after a few days): bulb is decent quality for the price, generously sized heatsink, I immediately noticed a brightness difference from stock for the tail and brake light modes. However, the tail mode is too bright, leaving inadequate change from high to low (making night time braking less noticeable). According to my measurements (multimeter and lux meter) it's approximately a 4x difference. This is actually plenty better than most other generic LED bulbs, BUT the spec is supposed to be around 7-8x for these types of bulbs if I recall correctly. Not the worst thing ever, but something to consider. Otherwise, great bulbs...so far...Update 1/2020: Bulbs still going strong, no leds out or flickering, and no loss of brightness.

Great product, not the right shade of red.
I order a lot of LED products from Amazon and because of this I know what to expect from a $15 set of LED bulbs and from a $23 set of LED bulbs. I bought a pair of 3157 amber-colored LEDs from Oxlam previously and they perform very well. So, I was expecting the same from this set of LEDs as well. I was somewhat wrong, but not 100% disappointed.I ordered red colored diodes to replace my boring incandescent bulbs. I installed these in no time and quickly found out why I had to remove them from my housings. Side note here: ALWAYS BUY RED LEDS TO MATCH THE PLASTIC HOUSINGS. Time and time again I see white behind red colored housing plastic and that is wrong. Match the colors accordingly. Anyways, I realized the red color of these bulbs were far to pink in color and due to the bulb base in which I was installing the bulbs into, the bulbs did not work most of them time sadly. So I had to uninstall them and return them to purchase another set. However, even with the small inconveniences of these bulbs, I would recommend them to anyone looking for a durable build LED bulb. Aluminum casing and excellent heat dissipation.

My entire tail end is now on Oxilam!
I usually get LEDs for my car from Super Bright LEDs, however, after an amazing experience with this brand's turn signal bulbs, I pulled the trigger right away! The ease of installation depends on your vehicle, so it's unfair to rate the product itself. The install was very straight forward, if it took long, it was 5 minutes. These are of equal size to stock bulbs. I will update this review for a longevity report. That said, brightness, as well as angle of the light projected is overwhelmingly amazing, especially when compared with the stock bulbs. The difference between tail and brake light is substantial and VERY noticeable. The difference may or may not be the same as stock bulbs or other brand LEDs, however, there is NO question, specifically at night, that you've depressed the brake pedal. Unless they give out in a short period of time, I am giving these 5 stars!

Disappointed
I recently bought two pair of OXILAM PY21W LED bulbs for my turn signals. They are very bright and don't throw any error codes. In my review, I gave them a 5/5.I figured that the 1157 bulbs were the same, except for a different base. Unfortunately the bulb is different and the light isn't as bright as the PY21W but more annoyingly, they dont work! The brake lights function as a driving lamp and light up under breaking. These ones simply don't brighten under breaking. So they work as driving lamps, but not brake lamps!I currently have a different pair of LED bulbs in the brake lamp socket and they light up under breaking for a brief moment, only to go back to their low-power setting. The problem then doesn't appear to be with the car but rather the bulb.I also ordered a pair of 1156 LED bulbs for my rear fog and reverse lamp - while they don't throw any codes, they are only marginally brighter than the stock incandescent bulbs. They too have a different bulb from the excellent Oxilam PY21W.

Be careful when installing these into older 1157 sockets!
I purchased these to upgrade the bulbs in an older car. I attempted to install them and noticed they would not turn when pushed into the socket. After a little muscle the bulb separated from the metal lower-half. Luckily I was able to glue them back together and the bulb still appears to work. Be aware that you cannot twist these with the torque of a standard bulb. If the bulb won't twist you will need to first try to flip it and try again. If it still won't twist then you'll need to use a file and file down the small alignment bumps on the sides until it twists easily. Also, don't forget your di-electric grease when installing new bulbs!

Very bright even through tint
These things impressed me with how well made they are compared to most other LED bulbs off the shelf. They were tremendously brighter than the super bright LED’s I have in the car already and we’re direct plug and play with the factory light housing. My car has tint that is just as dark as the black paint on it so you don’t see any red from my lenses and it still illuminated this brightly. I would def recommend to others.

Intalled on a Jeep TJ
I am not sure about the longevity having these only for a couple of months. What i can say is WOW. The best way to describe the brightness is in regular night driving the lights are a little brighter than the factory brake lights. Jeep TJs have 2 lights in the rear. Each of those have 2 reverse bulbs (which i replaced with the 1156 version as well) and 2 brake/night driving bulbs. Simply put the night driving bulb is the same bulb, just tap the brakes and the bulb gets brighter. Have someone tap your brakes. These bulbs are brighter in just the driving mode. I removed the 3rd brake light many years ago due to a off road bumper being installed. I drive my jeep as a daily driver in Los Angeles traffic. People do not pay attention so the brighter the better. You will need a resistor to avoid hyper flashing. But well worth it.

Huge Improvement
Made a huge improvement to the original 1157 bulbs. I can't address the longevity issue because they have just been installed. A good purchase and I would buy again.

build quality is very good, but the bulb manufacturer must be specific on the technical information about their products. Will return.
