My good friend and regular hair guy always told me, “No, don’t go gray. It’ll make you look older.” But at 65, I was ready. When he had to go on sabbatical to recover from an extensive surgery, I went looking for someone to help me with just that. With everyone embracing the white/gray/silver natural color that comes to us all, I feel in good company. And I’m LOVING it. I’m about 100% white framing my face, 70% various grays everywhere else. The grow-out process was camouflaged with blonde highlights. That started in January. And I liked it, until those took on the dreaded brassy tones. Following my new gal’s advice, I landed on the purple shampoo that is the subject of this review.I’ve used it twice, last night and this morning, and didn’t do anything other than shampoo real well and immediately rinse off, and I’m so pleased with the results I’m already seeing.Price point is about average, with some less and some more. But I’ll be a repeat buyer of this one because it works! It gives great body to my piece-y cut. Smells good. Is seriously purple and thick. Not harsh at all. I love it.If you’re dealing with the dreaded brass, I highly recommend this shampoo. And if you’re debating embracing your wisdom (😉), go for it!!! It’s liberating, and I’m thrilled I did!!

During Covid I let my gray grow out. I had dyed my hair since I was in my early 20's which was 50+ years ago. I just got tired of the hassle and expense every 2 1/2 to 3 weeks. My hair didn't turn salt and pepper. It went completely white - yep, what my sister-in-law says that people spend a lot of money trying to achieve! Since Covid, I tried different purple shampoos and purple treatments. They worked ok but nothing mind-blowing.Recently I was close to running out (I only use the purple shampoo once a week). I read reviews of different purple shampoos and decided to try this one. Well, just WOW! - after ONE shampoo, leaving it on less than 5 minutes, my white hair is BRILLIANT, SOFT and so white! I will never go back to the other purple shampoos again. This stuff came out of the container PURE DEEP PURPLE! It doesn't take much either so don't apply a lot, just enough to get a good lathering to cover the hair.I miss my dark hair but at 72 I've accepted the white hair now. I'm just glad that I found a shampoo that will make my hair look like I've had it professionally altered as far as color. This stuff is amazing! I wish that both of my parents who had white hair in their senior years would have used this. It makes the hair absolutely gorgeous.

This product is free of red dye which I am finding most blonde shampoos contain. Works well, makes my blonde shine bright, doesn’t leave hair oily, leaves hair soft, good price.

The product came in the mail quickly and the packaging was still intact without leaking. The fragrance is light. The smell kind of reminds me of baby soap but I like that smell. The purple is very rich in color and cleans the hair well. I bought this because I am trying to buy more “clean” and “low tox” items. This product is not low tox so that is a bit disappointing.

Good lather, size for price is great, smells nice, hair feels clean and takes out the brassy look.

I have only been using this shampoo for one week and my hair looks so shiny and no so yellow.

Great shampoo for my thick, coarse and frizzy hair. As far as how well it lathers, I'd give it a 7 out of 10 but it leaves my hair really smooth. Also know that I use Aluram conditioner as well.

Have tried many purple shampoos for my silver hair. Most were ok to maintain silver color and eliminate yellowish or brassiness. Rec’d a small sample bottle of Aluram as a gift from my hairdresser. Aluram is highly pigmented. Use once weekly, leave on 5 mins or so when showering, and rinse. Silver hair is very silver, shiny, and pretty soft. Doesn’t make my scalp itch like some other silver shampoos. A little goes a long way for my pixie cut - pea size creates luxurious lather. Smells very nice - no chemically smell.
