Wow!
Nicely suprised with the quality. I have worked in publishing art departments and libraries many whole life: every job came with edged tools and cutters and forceps, etc. I also have built 3 wristwatches so I'm used to using strange tools. I have some older forceps that i like and wanted more for my current needs: creating samples for microscopy, handling and standing up radioactive test sources for gamma ray spectroscopy and to augment my fiddling with watches and anything else i manage to disassemble. These tools have a matte brushed look instead of the bright (cheap) chrome plate that dollar store tools have. There are two scalpel handles with sealed blades: go watch YouTube video on how to properly install those. There is also a one piece scalpel which i thought "oh, it's the only thing that's a little rough looking but I can grind a new edge on it". Well, I didn't need to: it's obviously much sharper than any of my xacto blades: and I've got about 30 xacto handles and hundreds of different shape/style blades. A relative who is an MD gave me sealed surgical blades that were sharper than the one piece in this kit, however I'm going to guess that the sealed blades for the holder handles in this kit are sharper still! For hobby, artwork, etc these are sharp enough to get the job done. The one piece doesn't cut paper well: but it glides through plastic like a dream if you ride the rounded edge. I'm not dissecting anything but I'll assume this will go through skin and viscera just fine. The big scissors cutting edges bow away from eachother (so they don't crush tissue? ) but they cut the padded envelope cleanly and very straight! No curve to the cut in paper. The forceps click lock, but you can sort of pull sideways and open and close without clicking, and then release to lock. Dollar store hemostats make you click closed but open easy. These are easy both ways without being sloppy. Some wristwatch parts are thinner than a human hair so sloppy would be bad.For modeling (search Logusz U-2540) you can lock and hold items your painting or gluing easily. The blade holder handles are size 3 and 4.They are what i bought this kit for and the other stuff is icing on the cake. The probes are nice. The tweezers are fascinating: the ends are bent 90 degrees and interlock like teeth: one triangular spike fitting into a triangular cutout on the bottom. Then there is a medium, blunt tweezer and a pointed pair. The tongue lifting "thingy" with the keyhole notch I'm using to seperate out wiring in lower voltage electronic projects to trace back wires and hold while cutting.Even the magnifier glass is useable! It's heavy glass, crudely ground at the edges but has no noticeable spherical abberation (no weird fisheye effect). You can see and draw what you see exactly without having to compensate for optical distortions.A magnet will stick to these instruments, so you can infer what you will about metal composition. Nothing is marked as far as alloy or country of origin. The twelve blades are gamma ray sterilized TS 4171 / BS 2982 that are ISO 7740. Carbon steel. For under twentybucks I would have been happy with just the #3 and #4 handles.Michael LoguszScience and Optics

Decent kit, good price!
Sharp pieces, tweezers are awesome. everything is pretty great. Only downside is that there is a metal spike/probe that tends to end up sticking out of the holder bag, and the inside strap to hold everything down is a little loose. This means that pieces inside will fall out if you open it while holding it. Not a problem for tweezers and the like, but when a scalpel falls towards your crotch, you decide to take a star off the rating. All in all though, pretty great tool set. Picked it up for cleaning/working on 3d prints and it's worked out fine, except for the whole "almost circumcision" thing

Love it!!
I really love this kit. I used it on Monday when we dissected a rat and it was super FUN. All the different instruments make it so much better when dissecting the critters lol. I really loved the case the items came in. The case is durable and the zipper feels strong. Overall, great buy. :D

Good for Med Students
I’m a medical student, and I have been using this dissection kit for a couple of months now and I have had no issues with it. All the tools are functional and comfortable to use. They’re light and handy as is to be expected of dissection tools, but they have a weighty feel to them that help keep my hands still when I’m using them. Also I like that there are no unnecessary instruments to make the kit heavier than it needs to be.

Good, not great, but perfectly adequate for hobby uses.
I bought this for various hobby uses, since the old scalpel I had has finally worn out. The fit and finish is pretty solid, two different size scalpels are nice, I do wish they came with blade protectors so you could keep a blade on the handle, but I just used a paper clip and the blade's wrapper and it works fine. The magnifying glass is hilariously cheap and the spatula knife is ground really poorly, but everything else is great. the tweezers, spreader, scissors and ratcheting-tong whangjangler are all made out of excellent steel. The scalpel handles are excellent and hold blades nicely, the blades included are very good and come in two different sizes. The case is kind of cheap, it could do with two rows of elastic for holding the tools. but it gets the job done.So good, not perfect, does everything I need just fine!

I am actually really enjoying this kit. I Found other kits for more that had fewer tools in it and as a PT student in anatomy lab, I find having access to as many tools as possible very helpful and everything in here in honestly amazing. I would say that I wish the kit came with more disposable blades but for the price, there is no reason I need to complain. The only tool that I haven't used is the groove director but everything else has come in handy at one point or another. I would definitely recommend this kit for students looking for a good surgical kit in the anatomy labs.

Okay I have tested and look at this product it is very good stainless Steel they have very good quality the bag is very well made only one thing the the scalpel keeps falling out of the little holder that has her own place it seems too loose so you have to be careful that you do not cut yourself because it does not have a safety cover the magnifying glass it is pretty decent the rest of the tools a pretty good they hold in place very well still I recommend this product yes I do I give it 5 stars even if this scalpel keeps falling out for the price and the quality you get you cannot go wrong this is my honest review I will keep updating as time goes on. Any questions feel free to leave me a message

My main complaint is that the dissection knife does not come sharpened, seriously, no cutting edge at all! The scissors are sharp enough to do the job, the magnifying glass looks cheap but has decent magnification, tweezers close tight, the forceps have a little bit of a gap between the serrations.I will have to see if the dissection knife can be sharpened and hold an edge, I will update after it has had some use.

Sometimes You Get More Than You Bargained For
I bought this to replace the dissecting kit I have had for 25 years. This is definitely a step up. Solid, well crafted instruments, nice neat package. I thought the cloth which serves to separate the two sides of the case when it is closed was a nice touch; it keeps the instruments from rubbing against each other.I have two very minor complaints: the magnifying glass needed cleaning, which is odd for a brand new product (truth is, I may never use it); the elastic which holds the instruments in place was damaged and frayed at one point along its length and may require replacement at some point.

I tried to sterilize the scissors and put them in a solution for less than 5 minutes when i came back to see it, i saw orange balls everywhere very weird, and when I looked them out of th solution They were rusted! don't get them unless you are using them to cut paper or you have a different method to sterilize

Great
I love it, solid metal sharp and fine points just as described. Unfortunately i somehow misplaced the fine point tweezers although i suspect a household member snatched em and left em somewhere.

This is the worse tool I ever used
This is the worse tool I ever used. The most of the tools are bend and the sharp edge scratchy. Even de scalpel have the tip to insert the blade totally fuse together making impossible to insert the blade. Useless and very low quality.

Highly recomended
I just received this package today and I am very happy with it! Blades are sharp and remain sharp for a long period of time. So far every tool is performing as I expected. I do recommend this for anyone who is a hobbyist and isn’t looking to spend a ton of money on precision tools
